Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Giant Red Snake and/or 7 Colored Fish

Card Number - PSV-051

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating

Date Reviewed - 01.xx.03

Pojo Note:  One of our Card of the Day guys picked 7 Colored Fish for review today.  He didn't notice we already reviewed this card back on August 8th, 2002.  Yonex didn't want to review 7 Colored Fish again, so he's looking at Giant Red Snake which is essentially this same card.  Fine by me.  ;-)

7 Colored Fish

One of the most sought after MRD commons when the set first came out. Unless you can afford Mechanicalchasers, you would probably have to settle with one of the 3 1800ATK-ers with no effect that a lot of people like to use. The other 2 are La Djinn The Mystical Djinn of The Lamp and Harpie's Brother. Based on Stats alone, La Djinn is the best, then 7 Colored Fish, and finally Harpie's Brother. Personally I replaced all of my Fishies with Harpie's Brothers when they came out simply because the art is a LOT cooler than 7 Colored Fish.

If you need a good no-Tribute 1800ATK-er with no effect, you should consider this. Later on, Water-type decks will be more popular when a future card called [Atlantis] comes out. The Legendary Fisherman, 7 Colored Fish, Giant Red Sea Snake and some others would work well together as they share the same attribute. You can also boost up their stats with stuff like Umi and whatnot. So, don't just think of it as an 1800 ATK-er...

Rating: 3.3/5
Yonex [Yonex Note: Since we've done this card already, I'm going to review Giant Red Snake, since they are identical.]

Bads
-Little Monster
-Too rare?

Analysis: Back to weekday modes. Today we look at a card pretty much 100
percent identical to 7 Colored Fish. It is a very solid card, with really no drawbacks of the card. It is a nice 1800, which is currently the strongest no drawback cards, unless your lucking enough to own a Mechanicalchaser. However, this card is little compared to the other monsters in the current
game. This monster cannot match up with the Goblin Attack Force, Jira Gumo,
Dark Elf, and even Giant Soldier of Stone. It may also be a bit expensive with it being a Super Rare and it is in Tournament Packs II. However, you can just stick with 7 Colored Fish, since they pretty much do the same thing. Rating: In the current gaming, this card is not as good as it use to. With 1900's coming out soon, this card won't be so good. It still is a solid 1800, which is good. This gets a 2.7. In the near future, this card won't be as good as it use to be (referring to 7 Colored Fish).

Conclusion: Another 1800.

Monday - 7 Colored Fish

It's an 1800 attack monster with no effect and a common.  What's to say about it?  It has 200 more defense than its more popular brethren Harpie's Brother, 200 less than its phased out brethren La Jinn, and the exact same stats as its harder-to-find brethren Giant Red Seasnake.  However, this card does have a use that only GRS can share.  It's one of the main attackers in a Legendary Fisherman deck.  Hell, you could use Umiiruka in combination with 7 Colored, GRS, Suijin, and the upcoming Fisherbeast (6/2400/???) and make a nasty non-LF Water deck, but for now, this guy has his place in the standard beatdown.  For now, it's a nice card to play, but Gemini Elf and Vorse Raider will eventually phase it out.  For now, it's nice to play.

Score: 3.5 (there's nothing game-breaking about it, but it's powerful, so =/)
