Wednesday - Amazoness Tiger

Earth/4/1100/1500
[Beast/Effect]
Effect: Only 1 "Amazoness Tiger" can exist on your side of the field at a time. Increase the ATK of this monster by 400 points for each monster on your side of the field that includes "Amazoness" in its name,, or is named "Amazon Archer". As long as this card remains face-up on the field, your opponent cannot select another monster on your side of the field that includes "Amazoness" in its name, or is named "Amazon Archer", as an attack target.

Hardly mediocre in an Amazoness based deck. We get the Marauding Captain-like Effect, as well as a possibility of a stronger ATK. The problem is that in the current environment, Monsters tend not to stay alive for very long. Meaning that you will hardly ever reach Amazoness Tiger's ATK by more than 1500.

Another downfall is that you can only have one Amazoness Tiger on your side of the Field at a given time. So don't expect to pull off the double Maruading Captain stall combo with this Monster either.

In Limited it can either be really good, or really bad. It all depends on what cards you have available. At the very least it has over 1000 ATK, which usually means something in Limited.

Keep it casual, and nothing else.

Amazoness Tiger:

Earth/Warrior/4/1100/1500

Pros:
Searchable by Sangan, WotBF, Giant Rat and Last Will.
Potential of being 1900, 2300, 2700 or 3100 attacker.

Cons:
Can only have one out at a time.
Only 1500 ATK on its own.

Combos:
Marauding Captain - Tiger protects Amazons and Captain protects Tiger and Amazons.

Notes:
This is basically Harpie's Pet Dragon and Marauding Captain in one that only works for the Amazon girls. At first look you might think "well it's only 1500 with one Amazoness out" but her name itself includes Amazoness so she's already boosted to 1500 by herself. The most she can be boosted is to 3100 ATK, but it would be hard to get 4x Amazons out to boost her that much.

The bad part about this card is the only being able to have one out at a time, first it would be cool to have 2-3x out boosting each other, and second you can't pull of the double Marauding Captain trick making your opponent unable to attack.

So this card is somewhat playable, but only in one type of deck theme, so it won't be all that popular amongst the wide variety of duelists but for the ones who do try out an Amazoness Deck it has a lot of potential of being a heavy hitter. I don't see any of the Amazons as being that spectacular, so I don't think I'll be trying it out anytime soon.

Ratings:
Casual: 3.0
Tourney: 2.0
ArtWork: 2.5 - Just a Tiger, with a fancy collar, and some broken shackles, but without any Amazoness girls around it's not much of a threat.
Merril MFC-063 Amazoness Tiger

1100/1500

This card is just plain mean along side a few Amazons. On average it could be a 1900. The weakest it could ever be is 1500 because it gets the boost for itself. The most it could be is 3100 which is very painful to see against you. Here’s something to think about: a field full of Amazonesses and 1 Tiger equipped with United, Mage and 3 Axes and Gaia Power active. Let’s do the math:

5 Amazonesses  = +2000 ATK
United+5 Mons   = +4000 ATK
Mage+6 Equips  = +3000 ATK
3 Axes              = +3000 ATK
Gaia Power        = +0500 ATK
Tiger’s ATK        = +1100 ATK
-------------------------------------------
End Result         = 13600 ATK

That’s pretty powerful when you think about it. I think of this as the Amazon version of Marauding Captain. I like it, but it is pretty lame considering you can only have one of these tigers out at one time.
