Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Amazoness Spellcaster

Card Number - MFC-084

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating

Date Reviewed - 11.06.03

DuelMonster Thursday: 11/06/03

Amazoness Spellcaster/Gypsy:
MFC-084-Common
Spell: Normal
Effect: Until the end of this turn, switch the original ATK of 1 face-up monster on your side of the field that includes "Amazoness" in its card name, or is named "Amazon Archer", with the original ATK of 1 face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field.

Pros:
Gain the ability to attack a stronger Monster.

Cons:
Only switches Original ATK - Boosts aren't effected.
Only lasts the turn.
Only works on Amazoness Monsters.

Combos:
??? None I can think of at the moment.

Notes:
Well now, this is an almost Riryoku type Effect, except it completely switches the base ATK instead of stealing half of a Monsters ATK and giving it to another. This card can be pretty mean in an Amazoness Deck, but that's all it's good for obviously. Play it with an Amazoness Tiger against a Jinzo and your Tiger would become 2800 ATK (2400 from Jinzo and 400 for Tigers Effect) and Jinzo would only have 1100 ATK making for 1700 overflow damage and a dead Jinzo.

This card can save an Amazoness butt, but it can also become useless, well not completely but there are times when you can't use it or wouldn't need to, like if the opponent either has no Monster out or have an ATK worth switching, but then you should be able to attack anyways.

Since it only switches original ATK that means that boosts from Equip Spells or other Effects don't get switched. So if the opponent has a UWS or Mage Power on a Monster then it might not be worth trying to switch since it may still be stronger than your Monster.

If this card worked on any type of Monster it would rock, imagine using on your Yata or Lily, make the opposing Monster a 200/400 attacker and have a stronger Yata to destroy their Monster and inflict damage or have a stronger Lily before you even use her Effect. But it only works on Amazons so we will have to wait until Riryoku comes out, which will be very soon.

Ratings:
Casual: 3.0
Tourney: 2.0
ArtWork: 2.5 - An evil looking shaman Spellcaster with very cool looking head-wear. I'd wear one if I had it. She has some long fingers too, all the better to reach you with, if you were a little girl in a red hood or something around there.
Merril MFC-084
Amazoness Spellcaster
Normal Spell Card – Common
Until the end of this turn, switch the original attack of 1 face-up monster on your side of the field that includes “Amazoness” in it’s card name or is named “Amazon Archer” with the original attack of 1 face-up monster on your opponent’s side of the field.

Bright Sides: Can make you stronger Decreases opponent’s attack

Bad Sides: Can be a useless draw Mirror Force kills it Magic Cylinder kills it as well This can annoying to your opponent. Just take the attack of their best monster and use it against them. The fact you have to switch a monster with Amazoness in the name is a downside, though. Another bad thing is that it can be a useless draw if you needed a monster. I like it though, and think it should be in an Amazoness deck.

In a sealed deck tourney, this thing should not see play unless you pull a ton of Amazons. Try to avoid it.

Casual Rating: 0.7
Sealed Rating: 0.1(not good at all)
Tourney Rating: 2.9
