Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Fairy King Truesdale
Secret Rare

Plant / Effect Monster
As long as this card remains face-up on the field, increase the ATK and DEF of all Plant-Type monsters on your side of the field by 500 points.

Type - Water / 6 / 2200 / 1500
Card Number
- WC4-001

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale 1 being
the worst.  3 ... average.  5 is the highest rating

Date Reviewed - 5.12.04

dawnyoshi As of right now, Fairy King Truesdale is an awesome plant monster. He's 2700 ATK with his own effect, he boosts Mystic Tomato to 1900, Lekunga becomes a 2200 ATK beatstick, and more Truesdales equals greater strength. This thing is NEEDED in every plant deck. You can even revive him with Lord Poison, making him even better.

Constructed: 4/5

Limited: no grade. He's a video game promo, so there's no chance in seeing him in a limited tournament.
ExMinion OfDarkness Wednesday:
Fairy King Truesdale
If you're playing the previous two CotDs, you better be playing this. If you're looking for Tribute fodder besides Jinzo and want raw power, you might want to try one of these anyway.

Witchable and boosts itself (until it gets errata'd). So for now, it's 2700. That's pretty dang good. Granted, most of us would play an Equip or not even worry about power, focusing on our effects. But for the poor man's Beatdown this is seriously worth looking at.

I already mentioned the combos; Lord Poison has such excellent synergy with this, and Lekunga gets a boost, as would his tokens. Now those tokens actually have use!...except if that fails, you have no recursion since you removed all your monsters.

But still, 4/5 in the water/plant deck, 2.5/5 in a poor man's Beatdown.
Tranorix Wednesday: Fairy King Truesdale

(This rating is based on Truesdale as he is currently played in the English game; his playability will decrease TREMENDOUSLY when/if errata comes.)

For those of you who still play Summoned Skull, here is a much better alternative. He's a one tribute monster with a very solid 2700 ATK; moreover, he'll make all of your Tomatoes become 1900 Beatsticks. Lord Poison becomes a 2000 and Lekunga boosts up to 2200. He even powers up Fiber Jar to a respectable 1000! What’s not to love about that?

He also gets a boost from ALO, making him a 2900 attacker; and as if that weren’t enough, he's Poisonable, making him even easier to get onto the field. If you run a Plant deck, and you own and don't play Truesdale, there is something wrong with you.

Typical tournament deck: 3/5
Plant deck: 4.5/5
OVERALL RATING: 3.8/5
