ExMinion OfDarkness
Bottomless Trap Hole

Before it was just a regular cookie-cutter card that was part of the metagame. Now it's not only an anti-cookie, but an anti-anti cookie-cutter.

Let me explain...

Right now Mobius use is on the rise. Clearing out the spells and traps is too good to pass up. If Mobius gets off cleanly and kills a monster, the opponent just got a 3 for 2: Their tributed monster and their Mobius taking out 2 Spell or Traps and your monster. Not only that, but the Mobius can generate more advantage by killing more monsters in later turns. Bottomless turns that Mobius into a 2 for 2 or possibly a 2 for 3: Their monster and Mobius (which is gone) for your Bottomless and other spell or trap. +1 to you if you chained the S/T and either killed something or did something useful with it.

Also, rather powerful deterrents to the metagame full of Sakuretsu Armors and Widespared Ruins comes in the forms of Mirage Dragon and Pitch-Black Warwolf to name a couple. The "no traps in the opponent's battle phase" is just sick. It's a 1-sided Jinzo, seriously. These two cards sucked in the last format because of the 3 Goat, 2-3 Book of Moon, Enemy Controller-based defense, but with players having to rely on actual traps, those two are deadly. Bottomless provides an out against those cards. The big downside here is if you topdeck it it's a dead draw as opposed to Saku/Widespread which can kill an already-summoned monster the next turn, but if they have Mirage out then they're both dead draws anyway.

Bottomless is more of a side card than a main card right now; maining 1 alongside a few of the more reliable traps is a smart idea right now. I would suggest siding others if you have the room though, in case you run up against the anti-Battle Phase trap/multi-Mobius/some weird other high ATK monster decks.

Coin Flip
Bottomless Trap Hole is worth the play it will eventually see. Stopping Cyber Dragon or D. D. Assailant swarms as well as teched Twin-Headed Behemoths and stopping Mobius and Breaker cold is fun.

Yup, that was an in-depth review.

The bad side is that it won't hit a Spirit Reaper, or Elemental searchers like Giant Rat or UFO Turtle, or Don Zaloog, or Mystic Swordsman LV2. It will hit Dark Realm monsters that special summon themselves… Assuming their Special Summon was the last part of their effect to trigger. If you hit a Goldd with Delinquent Duo, you can't respond to his effect with BTH because the last part of the effect to trigger was the destruction of up to 2 cards on the field.

Still a good card. A 1-for-1 that takes away their summon and leaves a clear field is awesome in this format. Worth playing alongside Sakuretsu Armor.

General: 4.1/5

Dark Paladin
Bottomless Trap Hole is our card today, and this is my review from just a couple of months ago. I added in a little bit, on accounts of my views haven't changed that much.

When your opponent Normal Summons, Flip Summons, or Special Summons a monster with 1500 or more attack points, that monster is destroyed and removed from play.

This card is so superior to the original Trap Hole. The fact that the monster is removed from play, and it works even if the monster is Special Summoned. Too bad it doesn't work on Jinzo.

This card is best used on powerhouse or tribute monsters. Or, it could be a good card to use on DD Warrior Lady or even yesterday's card. You can even use this on Fusion Monsters...or even Ritual Monsters if you ever run into one. Oh yea, this thing will stop Sacred Phoenix too :)

If you have room for it in the main deck, go ahead and try one. It can be quite annoying to your opponent.

Rating:

Traditional: 3.8/5 Running too many traps is not a good idea.
Advanced: 4.3/5 More uses, but too many traps is still not a good idea.

vs. Sacred Phoenix 5/5
Art: 3/5 The monster being sucked into the hole is cool, I think it's Hitotsume-Giant...

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

RJ Bottomless Trap Hole...a slightly underrated card indeed.

These days people want the removal in Saku x3, and Widespreads. But depending on your meta, Bottomless can be a better choice than Widespread.

For example, if you see Mobius x2/3 in every deck, you would definitely want to run BTH, so when they tribute you can make that 2-1 a 2-2, evening out the cards once again. That's good.

Its also good for decks that stray away from Mystic Tomato/Don Zaloog/Reaper builds, My locals in New Orleans run that janky stuff, and I run BTH to make it easier, saku isn't needed when there is no Tomato stuff.

Of course, most of the top notch decks you will see will indeed have a Don or 2 and at least 2 reapers in them ;|.

Traditional: 1/5
Constructed: 4/5 -- VERY solid, kinda under rated when compared to Saku.
Constructed: 4/5, I think.
