Miracle Jurassic Egg

Can we say "filler", kids? I knew we could!

This card is just another crap 2000 DEF monster that doesn't do enough to support its type. In order for this to actually bring out any good monsters, this card has to survive while THREE or FOUR other Dinosaurs go to your Graveyard. Not only does this require that you actually weaken your deck by playing that man Dinosaurs as a core theme, but also that your opponent will actually attack these other monsters and not your Egg.

...oh, and it's 0/2000 as well. Which means you have to either set it and hope it doesn't get crossouted, or summon it and hope your opponent can't wipe out your protections and hit through it for full damage before you can switch it to DEF.

1/5 all

By the time you read this, I will have arrived in Missouri! Today we look at one of the new Dinosaur cards from Power of the Duelist. I'd love to see a competitve Dino deck be constructed with some of these new cards, but I don't think they have enough support yet...

Miracle Jurassic Egg is an interesting monster. It has a big fat 0 attack which sucks but a fairly solid 2000 defense for a Level 4 monster. To start, our Egg cannot be removed from play, and that's a plus, I don't care how good or bad a card is.

Secondly, by sending Dinosaur type monsters to your Graveyard, our Egg gets two counters for each Dino sacrificed. Then, by sacrificing this Egg with its counters, you may Special Summon a Dinosaur with a Level lower than the numbre of counters that were on the card.

So, it would be hard to summon somthing like Ultimate Tyranno or even Dark Tyranno both being high level monsters requiring many sacrifices and why waste two cards to summon something you can summon without a tribute anyway?

Ratings:

1.5/5 even in the Dinosaur deck...too much working against it

Art: 4/5

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Miracle Jurassic Egg:
So, it's "Stuff I ain't seen week," then. Lovely.

Well, this one ain't half bad. Nice DEF and Sorcerer can't get rid of it. Smash still can, but it's a start. It's effect is a nice idea, a very good tutor effect bound to a highly restrictive trigger. To get something special, you've got to loose three Dinosaurs to the graveyard, which takes far too long. Also, I though Dinosaurs would prefer dinosaurs were removed from play for Tyranno Infinity.

As far as type support goes, this is an all around killer monster. The ability to defend your LP while also allowing you to summon an 8 star T-Rex from your deck for the mere cost of 4 dino's dying in some shape or form. Thus their deaths where hopefully the result of a spell/trap.

This card also has a self protecting mechanic, but I believe it is a rather weak one (better than none, but???) With 0 attack, an enemy controller can make it vulnerable. Smashing Ground and Zarborg can also have a field day. It has potential with Heart of Clear water, but then again why waste the materials? I love the Dino search card that came out in the set, maybe sending 3 of them to the graveyard to special summon a Dark Driceratops. But overall this card seems like a good idea on paper, but a useless one in theory. Just too much monster destruction floating around these days.

Thus I think it deserves a 2/5. An honest attempt but not practical.

I really do love Ultimate Tyranno and the coming SuperConductor Tyranno. Sabersarus is a sweet new support card as well. But the egg just doesn't have what cracked up supporters of dino play need.

Miracle Jurassic egg

Ok, my comp just died whilst I was in the middle of a very long intro to this. Now that’s gone, and this is all you’re getting. Don’t blame me, blame god.

Miracle Jurassic egg is a recent stab on behalf of Konami at giving Dinosaurs some much needed support. They failed by the way.

MJE is great in theory, high defense, a bit of self protection and lets you special summon Dinosaurs from your deck. Unfortunately the design scheme fell flat on its face with making its effects be dependant to this monster being face up in order for this on the whole situational card to pull off. With a threatening 0 attack this is easier said than done, making the face down card vulnerable to NoC and the ever present threat of a Cyber Dragon or the like. The same can be said for any face down these days, but the problem with this one is that in order for it to reap any benefit it has to survive the turn when it was attacked ( hopefully) , otherwise you’re left with no alternative than to summon this thing in attack and leave yourself open to a huge beating.

The main effect of MJE is special summoning a dino from your deck, awesome in theory. Unfortunately this is what I call a token Engine. Token engines are neither good nor bad. They can be like any other card in most cases, just look at Skilled Dark Magician, now there’s a token engine with a purpose. Solid stats, great types and fairly effective token prowess. Nice. Unfortunately, there’s another side to this, a side which MJE falls into nicely, as well as stuff like Ancient Gear Castle.

This card requires cards to be sent to the grave in order to get 2 tokens . Not nice, not fun, and not going to happen. Whatever you trib this for will most likely be level 4 . Also, the protection ability is neither here nor there, CS will most likely just attack the damn thing anyway.

Art : 1/5 This egg art sounded promising, but the whole things just scrambled .
MPS : 2.5/5 Not for me, but I like the idea of a dino egg.

Miracle Jurrasic Egg

Basic Summary: Wow finally !!! Dinosaurs get some real support in POTD which is a good sign that Konami is giving some support to a none ? ( could be either E or D you decide ) Hero deck. Now the Egg is a great way to get out bigger Dino hitters faster which is decent if you're running Ultimate Tyranno ( Wedsday CotD ) now my only big issue is that it needs to be face up and still alive long enough for its effect to be usefull while since Ultimate Tyranno & Black Tyranno ( mainly something you will want out fast in a Dino deck ) are both Earth type could be summoned faster and easier through Trojan Horse, Now being a Dino its also Tyranno Infinity remove from game fodder

Conclusion: I like that Dinosaurs are getting support but I like Trojan Horse better in my opinion.

Traditional Format > 1/5: Don't even bother Raigeki would ruin this before it could work

Advance Format > 2/5: Hooray for Dino support

Artwork > 2/5: Very Jurrasic Park like....

Today we look at Miracle Jurassic Egg from the Power of Duelist Set. This set has some Dinosaur support in it, which some people have always wanted, and this guy can help you out(in a Dino deck).
Anyways, this is my 1st look at this card, so the text on this card reads as follows:

MIRACLE JURASSIC EGG
Earth
4 Stars
Attack: 0 Defense: 2000
Dinosaur/Effect
While this card is face-up on your side of the field, this card cannot be removed from play. Place 2 counters on this card each time a Dinosaur-Type Monster Card is sent to your Graveyard. By Tributing this card, select and Special Summon 1 Dinosaur-Type monster from your Deck whose Level is equal to or lower than the number of counters on this card when it was Tributed.

Okay, so some good support for Dinosaurs. He cant be removed at all, so this stops Sorcerer from removing it, which is always good, and stops other removing effects. Its just too bad that Smashing Ground kills it, Zaborg kills it, Mobius kills it, Jinzo kills it, and among others do too. Sure 2000 defense is good, but it doesnt stand up to those cards I just named, plus more.

The only way to make much of its effect is too get your opponent to kill as many Dinosaurs as he can, and then hopefully have like 8 counters to get a worthwhile Dino's like Black Tyranno, or Ultimate Tyranno, but by the time you get 8 counters, he'll probably be destroyed by a Smashing Ground or something anyways, or a 2000 attack or more monster, or a Zaborg effect.

Its 0 Attack doesnt help much either, you could always Controller it to Attack, grab Stein and have some fun, or just grab a big monster and deal them damage and laugh at them. Eitherway its all fun, lol.

You'll wanna test this in ful duels, as it could be fun to use, but in regionals, SJC, and the whatnot, dino's fail miserably. Try maining 1 or 2 in fun Dino decks. Could possibly work, but Im not the one to figure out.

Ratings:
Traditional: 1/5 (Better deck choices obviously, I wanna give it 0/5 but thats mean)
Advanced: 1/5 (In fun duels, its a 2/5, but in serious duels, 1/5).
