Legendary Black Belt

Okay, so we get a modified Fairy Meteor Crush for the three legal cards it can target.

Does anyone play Fairy Meteor Crush in a competitive environment? Nope.
Does anyone play ANY piercing cards in a competitive environment, outside of Airknight Parshath? Nope, unless you count Worlds 2006, and that was only because the Japanese had to find a substitute for a card that wasn't legal there.

Playing an equip to cause additional damage, short of a one turn kill deck, is trading card advantage for temporary LP advantage. That's not a good thing 99.9% of the time.

1/5 all.

Legendary Black Belt:
Rubbish pictre, rubbish support, ok effect.

If this effect was stamped directly onto a monster, that monster would be worth playing. As an equip spell, it isn't seen as well, but think about it this way. How much does your average burn card do? 800 I'd say. What could this do in an attack? 800? 1500? It's not that bad of an effect to add to aggro burn. Sadly, this example is stamped to Monks, who are rubbish as has already been shown this week. As such, enjoy another rare no one will ever want.

Legendary Black Belt

This card, is about as pointless as yesterdays card.

I have a theory on why they made this card. I'm relatively sure, when konami thought up this card, they thought "Hey, who cares if this card is horrible and can NEVER succeed in ANY deck, competitive OR casual, lets keep killing trees to make it anyway, GG ENVIROMENT!".

Terribad.

Lowest possible score in all formats, in anything. Anything ever. This card is bad. Bad.

This card just seems pointless to me. Cards like exarion universe, big bang shot, enraged battle-ox, etc have much better trample effects. If you think about this comparison, this belt is not good. The only monsters that this can even be attached too have low stats (with the exception of master monk). Non of them are going to deal significant damage to an opponents LP upon killing a monster. If they hit a goat (WOW o damage) Treeborn Frog (wow 100 damage) G-Spy (wow you take damage)

Enraged Battle OX and Exarion Universe are going to do more than that.

1/5

This card has already better options taking its place. Not to mention that a plain old smashing ground will be a better top deck in most cases.

Today we look at Legendary Black Belt from the TLM set. This can somewhat good if your opponent is running high defense monsters.

So basically get out a Monk Fighter or Master Monk or some rat guy and when it destroys a monster as a result of battle, inflict damage to your opponents lp's equal to the opponents monsters defense points.

The only good thing is that people might be playing GK Spies at it can deal 2000 direct. But most people are playing with monsters with 1000 or below defense points. So that aint good. Monster will be destroyed next turn anyways prob.

Its crap, okay......good.

Legendary Black Belt

Legendary Black Belt is another cool theme card for the “Kung-Fu” deck. Yeah…let’s call it that. While equipped, whenever Chu-Ske the Mouse Fighter, Monk Fighter, Master Monk, destroys a monster in battle and sends it to the Graveyard the opponent is dealt damage equal to the original DEF of that monster.

This card is best used with Master Monk since he has the highest ATK and hits twice. It’s a great way to deal damage quickly in a Kung-Fu deck.

Here are some interesting rulings for this card courtesy of Netrep.net:

  • If a monster equipped with "Legendary Black Belt" is destroyed, no damage is inflicted by the effect of "Legendary Black Belt" because it is no longer on the field. This includes if it attacked a monster with equal ATK, for example.
  • After the monster is sent to the Graveyard after being destroyed as a result of battle, the effect of "Legendary Black Belt" that inflicts effect damage can be chained to.

Last Word: This card is great in a Kung Fu deck. Deal damage quick and end the game before the opponent mounts a decent offensive. Try it.

Advanced 3/5
