Dark Paladin

Friday

Closing the week, we look at an incredibly powerful monster, Arcana Force XXI--The World (XXI being Roman Numeral 21 for the un-intelligent).  Here, we have a Level 8 Light Fairy with 3100 atk (and def) which is more than enough to take care of about anything...ever (maybe not EVER...)

As with most of the Arcana monsters, this one requires a coin flip when Summoned.  If the result is Heads, you can send two monsters you control to the Graveyard to skip your opponent's next turn.

How incredible is that?  Not even skip their Battle Phase, or their Draw Phase, but their whole turn?

If Tails, during your opponent's Draw Phase, add the top card of their Graveyard to their Hand.

That sounds like it could be a rather damning effect, but there are ways that can benefit you also.  If you happen to be wrong on the coin flip, just make sure a useless card would be recycled, which is essentially, a wasted Draw.

Ratings:

4.5/5  Definitely strong, and potentially deadly.  Enough attack to take out Dark Armed Dragon, DMoC, and others.

Friday:

Arcana Force XXI - The World

Now THIS is an Arcana Force it's worth trying to hit the flip of!

Obviously, missing the flip would be insanely detrimental, giving your opponent a free card out of their Graveyard on each of their turns.  But that's why you have Reversal of Fate, to prevent that bad flip from happening.  I'm sure you can see the potential here.

Being able to skip an opponent's entire turn is huge, and if you can get weaker monsters to send to the Graveyard, you can pretty much wail on a defenseless opponent and win the Duel.  My only complaint is that you actually have to send the monsters to the Graveyard -- it would be nice to be able to tribute Scapegoat tokens for this and gain two free turns in the process.

I'm not sure if someone's gonna break this card soon, but it's got potential.

General Zorpa Arcana Force XXI-The World

Hey, Another good Arcana Force! If you get his effect going, you WILL win the game. Getting him out first turn and then keeping his effect going is going to win you the game, you just have to get him out there. At two tributes, that is not easy, and it is even harder when you have to sacrifice two monsters each turn to get his effect on. Not to mention that you have to get it right, or your opponent will be getting a card from their graveyard back to their hand.

Fortunately, often the opponent wants cards in the graveyard to be in the graveyard, so the second effect is not as bad as it first sounds. You can remove that Spell for DMoC and the last DARK for Dark Armed Dragon. I have said before that I do not like Arcana Force cards, and this guy is no exception. He is just worth taking the risk to bring out. fires of Doomsday and Scapegoat can make his cost easier to bear, as well as gadgets with Ultimate Offering. Definitely a fun card to play around with, but nothing competitive.
