Dark Paladin
Thursday

And the week takes a turn for the worse with Izanami, a Level 4 Fairy monster, who happens to be a Spirit of the Water attribute with 1100 attack (craptacular) and 1800 defense (almost good).

This card has all the Spirit text you have seen and heard before, so we will move on to additional effect(s). When this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up, you can discard one Spirit monster from your Hand to add one Spirit monster from your Graveyard to your Hand.

I don't even like this card in a Spirit Deck, sorry folks.

Ratings:

1/5 both formats, maybe a bit harsh, but I think it's pretty justified.

Art: 4/5 As I've said, most Spirit cards have good artwork.
General Zorpa Izanami

Hmm, if you mix the letters around then it says "I'm a N..." woah! Anyway this card would have been broken like 3 years ago when Tsukuyomi and Yata were around. As of now, you can only really use her with the new Spirits (with the exception of Asura Priest) and that is just not really worth building a deck upon. I want to build a Spirit deck real bad, but they need some more solid support first.

Asura Priest and that Thunder Spirit that has 2000 ATK just aren't enough to build a deck around. You could so some cure things with Otohime and Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi, but that is about all.

Today’s card up for review is Izanami. How many years has it been since we last got Spirit support? Nice! The effect of this guy is actually pretty cool. You summon him and it does a Reinforcement of The Army for Spirits for a card pitch. Only downside is that there isn’t really any heavy hitters that are spirits. If you can mix and match some Spirits and stuff to maintain board prescense, it may work out! As of now, I havent found many uses for it right now. If support continues to be released, who knows?

Pwii Just an FYI, I'm probably spelling izanami wrong every time. With that being said, the whole 'spirit' archetype will never get off the ground because it's soooo sloooow. Ah well, maybe next time UDE.

Izanami is the Monster Reincarnation for spirit monsters. Spirit monsters usually get returned to the hand and not destroyed by battle or anything. If anything does happen, the opponent would play Bottomless Trap Hole in most cases. We can run three of any Spirit monster except the bird. Anybody playing spirits are usually running 2 or 3 copies of any good spirits, but there is not need to get them back if you have other copies.

Imanzai doesn't do much battle wise because of low attack. Her defense doesn't really matter since there are more effects going on than battling. Dark Armed Dragon, Judgment Dragon and any Synchro monster run over this card. Izanami should only be used for spirit decks for casual play.
