Now we look at Glow-up Bulb, one of the more interesting Tuner monsters out there.  Level 1, with 100 attack and defense, but as with most Tuners, the attack and defense don't matter for a whole lot.  Being a Plant increases playability, at least as far as Plants go, obviously.  If Glow-up Bulb finds itself in the Graveyard, you can send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard to Special Summon it.  You can only use this effect once, and again, it's likely easiest and most logical with Plants.  However, you could work your way to using this, it's another solid Tuner option.

Glow-Up Bulb …

Hmmm … interesting … and I like interesting. It’s a very simple effect and one that will 9 times out of 10 be useful to you. The obvious downside is that u can only do it once per duel. Otherwise, it would be SMASHED and thusly, banned with the quickness. Even once per turn would be too much for people.

Even still, Glow-Up Bulb is still pretty great as an extra card to be able to special summoned from your graveyard for almost whenever u need it, and a tuner at that. Why not try tuning it with something to make a Synchro. Then immediately bring it back and Tune it with the Sychro to make a better Synchro. Fun? – You bet.

Oh, Glow-Up Bulb, the newest addition to the "Let's make this Common into an Ultra!" club, you crazy Plaguespreader Plant. If you actually manage to find one of these Glow-Up Bulbs, which I'm sure just wants to burst into a light show and not grow up, you're probably using it in Quickdraw.

It just functions as a handy Tuner. It doesn't do too many special things other than make Naturia Beast with Super-Duper-Nimble-Awesome-Mega-Ultra-Hamster, but with such a tight Extra deck, you might not have room for it. This is THE card for making Formula Synchron and Shooting Star Dragon, though, because it brings a level 1 Tuner out of nowhere as thanks for milling it. Spore can do that, too, but the Bulb provides a replacement mill (although it really isn't much) and stays level 1, and can double as a level 2 (no pun intended).

If you aren't using it in Quickdraw, you're using it in Plants, which may or may not be more successful, but is definitely friendlier for Glow-Up Bulb. With more Plant support, you're more likely to hit Naturia Beast. Although it's overrated in some places, Glow-Up Bulb can be very effective in the right deck. It's the ability to make a Synchro whenever you want that makes this card good . . . although level 1 Tuners really aren't the best. But, Glow-Up Bulb can give you something for nothing, which is why it's usually a good card.

Fun Fact: New Golden Sun game at the end of the month!
Tomorrow: A very (anti-) suggestive acronym.

Today we will be taking a look at one of the new cards from Starstrike Blast, Glow-Up Bulb. Glow-Up Bulb is a Level one Earth Plant Tuner with one hundred Attack and Defense. You can mill the top card of your deck to special summon this from your Graveyard once per game. So once its in your Graveyard it’s a free +1.

This card is down right amazing; its card design was perfect. I love how they put the “once per Duel” clause on it to prevent it from being broken like Plaguespreader Zombie was with a “remove from play” clause instead. This will prevent it from seeing the Ban List since people will only play one of these since they can only use one, which effectively made it “limited” with out actually putting it on the list.

When finding a deck to put this in two decks come to mind. The first one is Lightsworns. In a Lightsworn deck their primary objective in their stage one, or early game, is to load their Graveyard up with different Lightsworn Monsters for their Judgment Dragon so the milling effect of this works perfect for this since it allows them to get a free mill from their deck. Also this combos nicely with Wulf, Lightsworn Beast since you can mill it for this Glow-Up Bulb’s effect and then Special Summon him since he is Special Summoned whenever he is sent from the deck to the Graveyard. The Second one is Quickdraw or Debris-Hime. This has great synergy with this deck since it is a deck that focuses heavily on spamming Synchros and it uses a number of cards to load up their Graveyard like Card Trooper, Foolish Burial, and Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter. One great play they have with this card is to Special Summon this and when they mill the top card they mill Dandylion which will net them two more tokens that they can Synchro with. They also play another card like this called Spore which is another tuner that can Special Summon itself from the Graveyard by removing a Plant monster in your Graveyard from play so we already know that the deck works well with tuners that can Special Summon them self from the Graveyard.

In the Traditional Format this card is ok, it can set up some nice plays in a Chaos Deck but again the Traditional Format is just too FTK based for a card like this so most of the time you won’t get a chance to even summon.

Bottom line:
This card is amazing in Quickdraw and Lightsworns. I didn’t get it a 5/5 because 5/5 should be reserved for broken cards which this isn’t.

Glow-up Bulb might just be the most broken card Konami printed in Starstrike Blast. Once per duel, with virtually no cost, you can instantly summon a level 1 plant tuner. The applications of this card are huge, especially in plants and Quickdraw. Glow-up Bulb is like an easier to use Plaguespreader zombie.

In the plant decks, this card is great fodder for Super Solar Nutrient, so that they can get to their lonefires even quicker. In the Quickdraw decks, you can discard this card for Quickdraw’s effect, or you can put it in the grave from one of your Ryko’s. Anyway you look at it, this card is broken. In decks that aren’t plant and Quickdraw, this monster is still a great choice. A tuner on your field for virtually no cost is always a plus. This card might even see some play in Monarch decks. It allows for them to have a monster to tribute, and if they need it, can also allow them to go into Black Rose and clear the field.

Glow-Up Bulb is a great card. That’s really all there is to it. He can fit nicely into just about any deck and is able to be used without paying much of a cost.
