Once per turn, during the Battle Phase, you can (Quick Effect): Immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon using this card you control. You can only use each of the following effects of “Tenpai Dragon Chundra” once per turn. If you control a FIRE Dragon monster: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. At the start of the Damage Step, if a monster battles: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower FIRE Dragon monster from your Deck, except “Tenpai Dragon Chundra”.

Tenpai Dragon Chundra is the Tuner you need to see in your opening hand.
Level 4 Tuner to help get to the Level 7 and Level 10 Synchro Monsters in the archetype. All Tenpai Main Deck monsters can Synchro Summon during the Battle Phase as long as you have a Tuner on the field. Chundra can Special Summon itself as long as you have a FIRE Dragon monster on the field, which is pretty much your entire archetype.
Chundra Special Summoning another FIRE Dragon Level 4 or lower during the Battle Phase helps stack attacking dragons to enable Bident Dragon, as well as continue with your turn in case a summon was negated. From the Deck will thin the deck and offers you almost a guarantee to have what you want to summon. Tenpai are all about cycling through and keeping bodies on the field to attack and synchro climb into bigger Dragon Synchro Monsters. You’ll likely go for the one Tenpai Dragon you didn’t have on the field when activating this effect, but there are other choices like Masked Dragon and Aiza the Dragoness of Deranged Devotion. This card can also find itself in the Flamvell archetype as well as all of them are FIRE Dragon monsters.
While Paidra was your Spell/Trap searcher, Chundra is your extender as well as facilitating another body on board to attack. On its own it is a 1-card Level 7-8 Synchro Summon. It is the Dragon you need to get Bident Dragon and your bigger hitters to the field.

A Synchro archetype means we got to look at their Tuner at least, so here we go with Tenpai Dragon Chundra.
Chundra is a Level 4 FIRE Dragon Tuner with 1500 ATK and 1000 DEF. Strange for the Level 4 to be weaker, but we keep the other traits of the Tenpai Dragons, and being the archetypal Tuner is important to Synchro Summon. First effect is the same Quick Effect and soft once per turn we saw yesterday on Paidra, letting you Synchro Summon using it as material. It gets you to Bident Dragion quickly with your other Tenpai Dragons, which should then get you to Trident Dragion or Transcendant Dragion. Everything else on this card is a hard once per turn, the first being able to summon itself from the hand if you control a FIRE Dragon, which is an easy way to get your Tuner onto the field to battle and Synchro with. Also at the start of the Damage Step where a monster battles, you can summon any Level 4 or lower FIRE Dragon from the Deck besides another Chundra, getting you to another one of your Tenpai Dragons to help with your OTK. Chundra being the archetypal Tuner is great when it can Special Summon itself and also summon more monsters when you battle. Very important to the OTK, so playing 3 alongside Paidra is recommended.

Tenpai Dragon Chundra is our second Tenpai card this week, a level 4 FIRE Dragon Tuner monster. Notably, it’s the deck’s only main deck Tuner, which can result in a few awkward situations that we’ll get into later. As usual, you can search it with Sangen Summoning or Sangen Kaimen, though if you don’t have Tenpai Dragon Paidra yet, that card’s obviously a bigger priority. Despite being level 4, Chundra’s stats are still pretty lackluster compared to Paidra, with only 1500 attack and 1000 defense, but hey, at least you can summon it with Masked Dragon! Or UFO Turtle, if you’re crazy enough…
Chundra shares the common Tenpai ability to Synchro Summon as a Quick Effect during the Battle Phase; after getting off your effects, you’ll want to go into Sangenpai Bident Dragion with either of the level 3 Tenpai monsters. Chundra’s our only main deck Tuner so far (Bident being the sole other Tuner), so accessing a level 3 body is important, though fortunately it’s not too difficult. Chundra’s other two effects are both hard once per turn (no Continuous effect here!), the first letting you Special Summon it from the hand as long as you control a FIRE Dragon monster. This goes perfectly with Paidra searching Sangen Summoning or Sangen Kaimen (though with the latter you would probably summon Chundra through Kaimen anyway), as well as an upcoming free agent in Infinite Forbidden that functions as an additional starter by searching Chundra. Chundra’s last effect triggers if any monster battles (not just itself), letting you Special Summon any level 4 or lower FIRE Dragon from your deck except for another Chundra. Most of the time you’ll just be summoning Paidra or Tenpai Dragon Fadra; it might be tempting to grab Masked Dragon, though outside of fringe emergency combos it won’t help too much. Chundra’s extender effect alone makes it extremely useful as an extender if Paidra ends up getting zapped by a Hand Trap (barring Sangen Summoning’s wondrous protection, of course!), but being able to extend during the Battle Phase as well makes it even better. It’s not as important as Paidra, but you’ll run 3 anyway because it’s that useful.
