Magic has had plenty of characters that fit this title in the sense of personal attributes, but this seems to be the first where it’s called out so explicitly, and the effect is definitely attention-grabbing. Your opponents won’t want to block it, because who wants to trade a Sheoldred or similar for a 2/3? But they won’t want to let it through, either, for equally obvious reasons, and the two effects together with that very specific self-resurrection will often provide opponents with no good options. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that getting around that last clause’s fine print requires thinking outside the box, much like the survivors in a slasher movie, and that the whole thing adds up really well to Magicifying the feeling of fighting Jason Voorhees. That doesn’t seem on its face like it has much bearing on non-theme-based gameplay, but if your goal is to overwhelm opponents with threats, Unstoppable Slasher does that almost on its own, much less in conjunction with similar cards.

The best kind of killer is one that just won’t stay down, right? At least, if you want something dead. Unstoppable Slasher may not be completely unstoppable, but it is good at killing, thanks to deathtouch and a distaste towards staying dead. It also proves especially threatening if it fdoes get through, as halving life totals adds up surprisingly quickly. And when it does die, it’ll come back and start counting down towards a second stab at things…though the needing no counters to come back can make this a bit harder to use alongside counter-based buffs (and offers a way to potentially get it for good before it dies). Still, this is quite the nice threat: a creature that kills what blocks it (usually), demands blockers to keep it in check, and comes back rather readily; it’s not completely unstoppable, but it comes quite close to it.
