I’m a big fan of effects that grant flash, although I do wish there were a couple more that weren’t in blue. Blue is the color that the effect is most useful against, because it confounds their counterspell timing, so if you have to play blue to do it, it reinforces the idea that blue plays at instant speed. Still, High Fae Trickster notably grants flash to everything you have, and while I understand that there are flavor or gameplay reasons for other cards doing only a subset, sometimes you really want to do something powerful or hilarious like sneak a planeswalker into play during someone else’s turn or pull out a Dragonstorm win during the opponent’s upkeep. It even attacks a lot more aggressively than most faeries, addressing my main problem with a lot of instant-speed decks (their inability to actually end the game). I just like the card a lot, to be honest.

Leyline of Anticipation, only a bit more lethal. Maybe not the perfect analogy, since this doesn’t have the whole “start the game in play” clause, but High Fae Trickster is a four-power flier with flash that carries that effect. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it is actually quite nice to have an enabler that also pushes a game forward aggressively, and four power trades with or kills a lot (even if this is a bit fragile itself). High Fae Trickster isn’t going to revolutionize the meta, I don’t think, but it’s a solid creature in a tribe with a healthy amount of support, and it has an effect any deck that can run it won’t mind having.
