This card was #6 on my Top 10 of 2024 list.
Enduring Curiosity stands out to me because it’s such a simple effect that’s been iterated on many times, yet it’s curiously more powerful than a lot of the ones we’ve seen recently. I think it’s pushed to encourage blue decks to attack, and it is very good at doing that – the level of card advantage you get when a swarm of creatures connects is very hard for any deck to come up with. And this is a lot more likely than with some variants, not just because blue has plenty of creatures that are hard to block, but also because you don’t have to telegraph what’s coming like with a sorcery-speed card. On top of that, it has a lot of the advantages associated with abilities like persist and undying, where your opponent’s answers are just less effective than they’re used to – considering that blue’s counterspells do the same thing, this is as close to a sure thing as you can get, given the right setup.

This card was not on my Top 10 of 2024 list, but I did have it on my short list.
Curiosity may have killed a cat, but this curious cat is one you might not want to kill…though actually properly killing it is a different thing. Enduring Curiosity is powerful in terms of potentially drawing lots of cards, and you can even hide it until it’s time to draw lots of cards in a pinch; alternatively, a 4/3 can make for an effective combat trick that still sticks around to let you draw cards. It’s an effect that can add up really quickly, particularly conjoined with blue’s fondness for evasion, and while it’s hardly the strongest card, it’s a great way to keep cards in your hand in a color infamous for having lots of answers.
