King of Lullaby Hello Pojo Fans, Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Eland is the first Ritual Fire Fist monster, and our ending card for the week. You could use other means to Ritual Summon this, but you want to use Domei, as it can be searched within the archetype, works as a Fire Formation spell on the field, and has an effect that kicks when sent to the grave. Searchable with archetype-specific cards also eliminates reasons to play ritual searching cards. 1-for-1 way of getting to a Fire Formation spell/trap from your deck like how Dragon would do, easy way of getting to cards and monsters can be brought back in the archetype. 1-for-1 negation of monster effects is something the deck sorely lacked. Quick Effect gives you even more power to halt your opponents plays and with the option to use Fire Fist or Fire Formation cards you have doubled your means to activate the effect. Not much else to say about Eland, except they could’ve used it a long time ago. I love that they made a Ritual Monster simple to summon, search, and use within an archetype that isn’t Ritual-based. The Ritual Spell is a Continuous Spell, feeding card effects within the archetype and gives you back something when sent to the grave. This is how Ritual Monsters/Spells that are thrown into archetypes that aren’t based around Ritual Summoning should be. Advanced-4/5 Art-3.5/5 Until Next Time |
Crunch$G As you already knew, we’re ending the week with the Fire Fist Ritual that is Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Eland. Eland is a Level 6 FIRE Beast-Warrior Ritual with 2400 ATK and 2000 DEF. Good stats on a Level 6 Ritual and being Level 6 means you’ll likely use 2 monsters in Fire Fists, which isn’t a hassle when they already give up 2 monsters often for other summons. You can Ritual Summon this with Fire Formation – Domei, which is the Continuous Spell we saw earlier in the week and makes it not synergize with Pre-Preparation of Rites. You can discard a monster to set any Fire Formation Spell/Trap from your deck while this is on the field, so basically it’s another Rooster and I believe since it doesn’t specify you having to send a Fire Fist monster, I imagine you can’t use Eagle to ignore this cost. When your opponent activates a monster effect, then as a Quick Effect you can send a Fire Formation or Fire Fist that’s face-up to the graveyard to negate the effect. I won’t complain too much about not destroying since sometimes you don’t want to destroy a monster and if you do, at least you got Bear in the archetype for that. Again, another free effect if you control Eagle (which you most likely will) and it’s a free negation, which in this era of the game we love. Each effect of Eland is a hard once per turn as you expect, but Eland is still a pretty nice Ritual for the archetype. One is fine since it’s highly searchable and can be revived with Dragon if properly summoned, but it’ll be a pretty good one-of. Advanced Rating: 4/5 Art: 5/5 Calling it Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Antelope would most certainly not been as cool. |
Alex Searcy Remember earlier this week when we had to start by admiring the artwork before the review…we’re doing that again. Brotherhood of the Fire Fist-Eland closes our week. Given we spoke Ritual earlier, a Ritual to close seems fitting. Eland is Level 6, (so our card from Wednesday is in play remember) with 2400 attack and 2000 defense, neither bad for Level 6. So, discarding a Monster (here it’s just a Monster, not a Brotherhood Monster) to set a theme Magic or Trap card from your Deck to the Field. This is helpful and more versatile and open then we’ve seen this week, you might not always be able to have that theme Monster on hand to discard, so I like this. Lastly, there’s a Quick Effect here attached as well: This is negation, where when your opponent activates a Monster Effect, send a Fire Fist or Formation card you control to your Graveyard (here it doesn’t matter if it’s face-up or face-down and can be Monster/Magic/Trap, so GREAT) to negate said effect. You can’t send this guy, and you can only use each effect once per turn. I like you can use each in the same turn, and I like the protection, even if it’s just Monster effects. Rating: 4/5 Art: 5/5 so much. Eland is an African Antelope, but the fact it got a twist on the name instead of the animal is cool. The art all over this is magnificent. Very anime reminiscent as well. |
