King of Lullaby Hello Pojo Fans, Predaplant week comin at ya on Pojo CoTD, and we’re starting things off with Predaplant Heliamphorhynchus One of the newest Predaplant support cards, this card is best used in conjunction with a Predaplant counter. As long as you can get one on the field, this monster is easy to Special Summon. Not much use for a monster that is Level 8 with only 1200ATK unless you can summon it easily. The monster reborn effect will target any of your Predaplant monsters, along with any DARK Dragon-Type that may find its way into the deck. This card is another way to get back your Predaplant Extra Deck monsters, period. As if Super Polymerization wasn’t enough help for Predaplants, they now have a card like this. Flytrap and Spinodionaea put a counter on the field so you can drop this and set up a Fusion Summon. It was synergy with Trade-In and Allure of Darkness, and when destroyed will give you back something…check all the boxes for a good card for the archetype. Advanced-3.5/5 Art-3/5 Until Next Time |
Crunch$G Well that’s a name… Predaplant Heliamphorhynchus is a Level 8 DARK Plant with 1200 ATK and 2400 DEF. Low stats for the level, but the DEF is much better than the ATK, I like the DARK attribute and being a Plant is a good trait to have. If your opponent controls a monster with a Predator Counter, you can Special Summon this card from the hand. No cost to get it on the field, just need to get a Predator Counter on an opponent’s monster, something Predaplants do not struggle to do at all. If this card in its owner’s possession is destroyed by an opponent’s card, you can target a DARK Dragon or a DARK Plant in your graveyard and Special Summon it, as long as it isn’t another one of this thing. A free revival is something good, especially since the Fusions the archetype loves to use are either DARK Dragons or DARK Plants, so I can imagine you’ll revive one of them if not a main deck monster to get more plays going. Each effect of this card is a hard once per turn, and that’s fine. It’s a pretty good Predaplant monster for its ease of summoning and recovery effect, I’d say at least one is worth it. Advanced Rating: 3.75/5 Art: 4.25/5 It’s a dino plant. |
Alex Searcy Predaplant Heliamphorhynchus (say that three times fast) kicks things off this week. We have a Level 8 Plant thingy, who is Dark with 1200 attack and 2400 defense. Level 8 gives us the ability to use Trade In, which is good. And while we don’t much like having to Tribute (twice) for a 1200 attack Monster, the 2400 defense is good, as is the Special Summon ability attached. This card can be Special Summoned from your Hand if your opponent controls a Monster with a Predator Counter. Which is all too easy to accomplish in the Deck. If under your control and destroyed by an opponent’s card, you get to Target a Dark Plant or Dragon from your Graveyard and Special Summon it. 1-for-1 free replacement is always a good thing. Bring out something stronger and punish your opponent. The ease in bringing this card out allows for easier Linking or Rank 8 Extra Deck plays as well. You can’t bring out another one of itself, as is all too common these days on cards, and each effect here is once per turn. It’s not the strongest card, but given what it does and can set up for the player to do, it doesn’t have to be a strong card, in my opinion. Rating: 3.5/5 Art: 4/5 So it’s a Dragony Plant, with a laser tail cannon? I really dig it, and the background is pretty trippy too. |
