Elemental HERO Liquid Soldier
– #LED6-EN013
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 Level 4 or lower “HERO” monster in your GY, except “Elemental HERO Liquid Soldier”; Special Summon it. If this card is used as Fusion Material for a “HERO” monster, and sent to the GY or banished: You can draw 2 cards, then discard 1 card. You can only use 1 “Elemental HERO Liquid Soldier” effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Crunch$G We now see Jaden’s new support to represent the GX era, which means more HERO support. Yay! Today we got another good Normal Summon for the archetype to help make more use out of Stratos, Vyon, or Shadow Mist with Elemental HERO Liquid Soldier. Liquid Soldier is a Level 4 WATER Warrior with 1400 ATK and 1300 DEF. Fairly meh stats for a Level 4, even though it’s probably being used for Fusion or Link Material after it is summoned like most HEROs, you got Warrior and Level 4 for RotA as well as E – Emergency Call since it’s a Elemental HERO, and WATER is nice to give more good variety in the Attributes for HEROs since Bubbleman isn’t what it once was for HEROs. Upon Normal Summon, you can target a Level 4 or lower HERO in your graveyard and Special Summon, but you can’t revive a Liquid Soldier. I don’t get why you can’t revive Liquid Soldier since it can’t get its summon effect on Special Summon and it is a hard once per turn, but I guess they don’t like Bahamut Shark in HEROs like before MR4. The effect is still excellent to get your HEROs back like Stratos for your search of any HERO or some Spell/Trap destruction, Shadow Mist to get to your Mask Change, or Vyon to dump a Malicious or something to the grave and get to a Polymerization. Those are probably the best HEROs to get, but if you need just a body then you got Solid Soldier or Vision HERO Increase just to get you to Cross Crusader. The second effect is when it’s used as Fusion Material for a HERO monster and is sent to the graveyard or is banished and as a result you get to draw 2 and discard 1. Drawing cards is good and at least HEROs have cards they don’t mind to discard with Malicious or Shadow Mist. This doesn’t work with Mask Change I don’t believe, which stings, but at least it’s a WATER for Masked HERO Acid and it helps make the Absolute Zero into Acid combo viable again in 2020. You only get 1 Liquid Soldier effect per turn and only once that turn, and I guess I can understand with how powerful both effects can be, but I’m sure it would of been fine if you could use both, but at least Solid Soldier isn’t alone with this restriction. Liquid Soldier helps HEROs make more plays, though probably not first turn since it needs graveyard setup. Still, I’d use a copy or two in a HERO Deck to get plays going if you don’t OTK, your board is broken, or you can make more plays to help make a push for game safer. Alex Searcy So, it was Yugi week, and now it’s Jaden week…what could be coming next? Anyway, Elemental Hero Liquid Soldier kicks things off. Level 4, Water/Warrior, with rather unremarkable stats at 1400/1300 respectively. So, a Normal Summon of this card nets you a Special Summon of an Elemental Hero from your Graveyard. That’s not at all bad, it’s just not GOOD, either. A free Special Summon is good, even if dependent off of a Normal Summon. You can choose another Liquid Soldier, and it is very easy to get Heroes in the Grave. This likely is a better effect latter in the duel with more options available. Next, if use as Fusion Material for a Hero Monster, and sent to the Grave (or removed from play) you get to Draw 2 cards, and then discard 1 card. A free card (a free card net, that is, with the discard) here is actually a better effect. The downside, appropriate as it may be, is you can only use one of these effects per turn (and only once per turn) so you can’t bring out something to Fuse with this, dump it via said Fusion, and Draw 2 cards. Too much power in one card in one turn I guess. One meh effect, one solid effect, on a reasonable card. Rating: 3.5/5 Art: 4/5 I mean, Water I see, he looks very cartoonish with that grin, which is just giving me the wrong vibe. |
King of Lullaby Hello Pojo Fans, Elemental HERO Liquid Soldier starts off E-HERO themed week on Pojo. Seems like every year we get new E-HERO stuff. Frankly, this one puts Bubbleman to shame. Special Summon of a lower level HERO from your grave is a great way to get back something you used for an Extra Deck summon or discarded for an effect. Stronger than Bubbleman, more useful since it gets an effect off a Normal Summon, and its draw two is MUCH easier to arrange than Bubbleman. Use Liquid Soldier for a Fusion Summon and get your draw two, discard one. Liquid Soldier can be teched into Destiny HERO to get Malicious, Shadow Mist, or any grave-specific HERO into the grave. Any archetype would love to get a draw two, discard one off using a searchable monster for something the archetype inherently does. If Shaddolls got an effect on that it would be broken. With Liquid Soldier released there is no real need to run Bubbleman unless you use it for a specific Fusion material. Advanced-4/5 Art-3.5/5 Until Next Time |
