Madolche Salon – Yu-Gi-Oh! Review

Madolche Salon gives you the extra Normal Summon the archetype needs to make that competitive charge.

On the surface, Salon equals instant Rank 4 Xyz Summon, along with benefiting from each of the Madolche monster effects you’ll activate upon their summons. The pull effect from the deck gets you quicker to your defensive trap cards within the archetype. This effect will kick whenever you lose a Madolche via your opponents actions, but you can also trigger it yourself with your Xyz monsters Tiaramisu and Puddingcess, as well as cards like Chateau and Pot of Avarice. For a big push on your opponent you will want to search out Madolchepalooza with Salon, then trigger Salon with Madolchepalooza and search another spell/trap.

Salon is a +1 each turn with the abundance of Madolche monsters that can trigger its second effect, as well as the spell/traps you can search off of it that will trigger its second effect as well.

Next up we have Madolche support that the archetype has wanted for a long time: Madolche Salon.

Salon is a Continuous Spell with two effects on field. The first effect gives you a Normal Summon of a Madolche once per turn in addition to your standard Normal Summon or Set. This is an effect you can only gain once per turn, something you see on most of these cards offering additional Normal Summons. Considering how Normal Summon reliant the Madolche Deck can be, it’s nice to finally have an in archetype way to get additional Normal Summons. It’s searchable off Messengelato, so that’s another plus. The second effect is that if another Madolche card(s) you control or in the graveyard returns to your hand or is shuffled into the Deck, you can set a Madolche Spell/Trap that isn’t Salon directly from Deck. Getting more access to the ever so important Spell and Trap lineup in Madolches is pretty good. You can get to your Chateau or Ticket with greater ease or get to Madolche Promenade for disruption on the opponent’s turn, which is another thing the archetype needed. This is a hard once per turn effect, as we’d expect to not generate too much advantage. Madolche Salon is an excellent card for the archetype that has always needed Normal Summons. No longer would it need to rely on a Double Summon or Gem-Knight Seraphanite as now the archetype can do it all on its own while also generating more advantage for the archetype doing its standard thing. It’s a must in the archetype without doubt, it helped Madolche see more rouge meta success.

Now we move to the dessert portion of our week as we look at Madoloche Salon.  A Continuous Magic card that allows you first an extra Normal Summon or Set of a Theme Monster   Extra Summons are good   Likely at first at least opening Extra Deck plays.

Next, if a Madoloche card(s) you control or in your Graveyard returns to your Hand or back to your Main Deck, you can directly set a Theme Magic/Trap from your Deck (so long as this happened by card effect).  Talk about versatility.

This is the bread and butter of Madoloches, so this should be insanely easy to capitalize on   Two really solid effects here, that help a Deck do better what it already does well.
