King of Lullaby Hello Pojo Fans, Odd-Eyes Revolution Dragon continues on the Odd-Eyes support and wraps up our week. As a Continuous Spell, Revolution Dragon will lock you into Dragon monsters, so archetype-specific. The reborn of an Extra Deck Dragon is another way of getting a beater onto the field or just get yourself another material for something like a Link Summon. There are plenty of Dragons to choose from to Special Summon from the grave, so running this as a one-off as another way to Special Summon one of those targets would be acceptable, especially with its discard effect as a monster in your hand. As a monster it needs three Dragons or be Pendulum Summoned. As a Level 12 you wont be doing the latter unless you run Supreme King Gate Infinity. The tribute monsters need to be Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz respectively, making it seriously tough to summon. For all the hoops to jump through, Revolution Dragon gaining ATK/DEF equal to half your opponent’s LP isn’t much of a payoff. Discarding this card may be better than trying to summon it, using it as a Dragon Pendulum searcher. Paying half your LP to have a Fiber Jar-like effect without the redraw is great, but you’d be better off discarding this for its search and using something like Phantom of Chaos to copy and then activate the effect. Great as a Pendulum Effect, and as a searching card when discarded, but you won’t be summoning this monster very much without far-too much put in. If you summon it, and get the effect(s) off, you’ll win the game unless you are incredibly unlucky. Advanced-2/5 Art-4/5 Until Next Time |
Crunch$G Here’s a lot of text on a card for it to just have one useful effect, though it’s one Pendulum Users were waiting for: Odd-Eyes Revolution Dragon. Revolution Dragon in the Pendulum Scale is a Scale 12 that only lets you Pendulum Summon Dragons and this cannot be negated, but it shouldn’t be the end of the world if you’re playing an Odd-Eyes Deck. You can target any Dragon Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz in your graveyard to revive it and destroy this card, which I guess the revival is nice though probably not enough if the opponent already got over it to begin with, it at least gives you a chance at a comeback. Revolution Dragon as a monster is a Level 12 LIGHT Dragon Pendulum with ? ATK and DEF, with the stats being half of the opponent’s LP meaning this can be very strong or very weak depending on how late into the game it is, but being LIGHT and Dragon is great at least. This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set and must be Special Summoned from the hand via a Pendulum Summon or by tributing a Dragon Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz you control. The Pendulum Summon is hard to do since you’d need a Scale of 13 and tributing 3 Dragons you had to invest to get out of the Extra Deck is just a lot. You can also just discard this card from the hand to search any Level 8 or lower Dragon Pendulum at the cost of 500 LP, which might as well been the only effect on this since it can help Odd-Eyes Decks or anything Pendulum related using Dragons or Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm. The lone effect this has on field has you paying half your LP to shuffle all other cards on the field and graveyards to the Deck, which is costly if it gets negated, but could be a blowout if it resolves. This probably should of been unaffected by cards considering the hoops you have to go through just to summon this. The effect is nice, but not enough. Literally just use it for the search. Advanced Rating: 3.5/5 (2/5 if you remove the search effect and use it as a Pendulum Scale or Effect Monster on field) Art: 3/5 I don’t even know what this is. Some Odd-Eyes arts are wild, and this is really out there. |
Alex Searcy IT’S A REVOLUTION!!! Meaning, that Odd-Eyes Revolution Dragon closes our week. A Level 12 Dragon/Pendulum Monster, with ? attack and Defense, and a 12 on the Pendulum scale also. So let’s start with the Pendulum side of things. An effect can’t be negated that only lets you Pendulum Summon Dragon Monsters. Which fits the Odd-Eyes them, annoying as that may be to be locked into something. Targeting a Dragon XYZ/Synchro(or)/Fusion in your Graveyard lets you Special Summon it. You do destroy this card, so you’re trading 1-for-1 here. I’ll assume you didn’t waste anything in Tributing for this, so if you Special Summoned it, to Pendulum this card, and then do that, I see that as more or less a fair trade in your favor. For the Monster side, no Normal Summoning or Set, and it must be Pendulum Summoned from your Hand. Or Special Summoned from your Hand by Tributing 3 Dragons (an XYZ, Synchro, and Fusion). Wow…that’s a lot to do for one card to hit the Field. It gains attack and defense equal to half your opponent’s Lifepoints, so even if you drop this card out while your opponent has 8000, that’s 4000. Which I’m not making light off, but I don’t see that happening too often. It’s probably going to be later stages of a game, and by then, the lower your opponent’s Lifepoints, the less power this card has. It has a near Fiber Jar effect, letting you pay half your Lifepoints to send all cards on the Field and Graves back to the Decks (save this card). Which is insanely disruptive, but that might not be a finishing move, and to invest in a move like that and not win just doesn’t seem worth it. What if your opponent gets something to turn around and win getting all those resources back? The problem with this also is that your opponent’s Hand isn’t altered by this effect. I don’t like that either, so if they survive, it could be big trouble for you. This card only gets weaker after the attack as well. Lastly, paying 500 Lifepoints and discarding this card lets you add a Level 8 or lower Dragon/Pendulum from your Deck to your Hand. Meh on this, meh on this card. This card has an asinine amount of text, and it just doesn’t do enough. It has a Field clearer not guaranteed to win you a game, it’s not strong enough, it doesn’t have the reliability needed…typing this out was like running a marathon. Rating: 1.75/5–There’s SO much going on here, even if say it had a 3000 or 4000 attack body attached, guaranteed, that’d be SOMETHING, but there’s just so many variables. This card is trying to do so much while accomplishing little to nothing. Art: 3/5 Even the Dragon doesn’t look very cool, which is a shame, most Odd-Eyes cards do look pretty cool. The background is enough for an average rating here though. |
