Lightning Storm is our #3 choice.
Nuke all your opponents Attack Position monsters or nuke all the spell/traps they have. You can’t have any face-up cards, and while you can’t get rid of their Defense Position cards, this card is a must in any deck that isn’t a FTK. For now you can run 3 in your deck, which is insane to think about: Alongside Harpies Feather Duster being back you could have 4 cards that wipe your opponent’s back row out. While Defense Position monsters still happen in the game, Link Monsters can’t, so they will always be a rod for this storm. This is one of those cards you shotgun on your turn before you commit to the field, which works well with the “no face-up cards” requirement for you. There is never a bad time to play this card, as it is a blowout. Even having to hold onto this card because you have face-up cards isn’t a bad thing.
If you have the $$$ play this, if you play face-up cards a lot (like in the spell/trap zones) find a place for this in the Side Deck.

We go from a card with 3 banned effects to a card with 2 limited effects, but with somewhat of an easier summoning requirement that doesn’t rely on the opponent for you to trigger. From Ignition Assault, we have Lightning Storm.
Lightning Storm is a Normal Spell that can only be activated if you have no face-up cards, which is easy to achieve turn 1 or if you’re playing a Deck relying on setting cards more than activating them. Either you can destroy all Attack Position Monsters the opponent controls or all Spells and Traps the opponent controls. Either you get a psuedo-Raigeki or a Harpie’s Feather Duster, both of which are limited cards in the TCG format. You can take care of a some Monsters to help you go for game, or get rid of backrow for you to combo off. The fact one card gives you the option for the effects is great considering the activation requirement isn’t too bad. It’s a hard once per turn, which is fine since I’m sure you’d only need 1 of these effects with you either playing against combo to use the first effect or control for the second effect. It’s a great card, potentially better in the Side Deck unless your Deck wants to go second, and the only real reason to get Ignition Assault this year.

This is a pretty simple and sweet one, the Normal Magic, Lightning Storm. Controlling NO face-up cards lets you either nuke all your opponent’s attack position Monsters, or take out their back row. Naturally, you can only use one of these a turn. Either way you’re going, a successful clear of one or the other very well could net you the match. Maybe it’s lucky and you’re opponent has one empty row and using this does clear the Field. I mean that’s not the most likely outcome but it can happen. Destroying 1 Monster or Magic/Trap breaks even on this card to start, so the advantage here to + is rather high. Great way to come out of a hole at the very least.
