Raider’s Knight – #PHRA-EN040
2 Level 4 DARK monsters – (This card is always treated as a “The Phantom Knights” and “Raidraptor” card.) – You can detach 1 material from this card; Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 “The Phantom Knights”, “Raidraptor”, or “Xyz Dragon” Xyz Monster that is 1 Rank higher or lower than this card, by using this face-up card you control as material, but destroy it during your opponent’s next End Phase. (This is treated as an Xyz Summon. Transfer its materials to the Summoned monster.) You can only use this effect of “Raider’s Knight” once per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Raider’s Knight is an Xyz extender for the two archetypes it is considered, in addition to the three archetypes it works in conjunction with (two are the archetypes it is considered).
DARK materials for what looks like a generic Rank 4 with lower ATK than standard Rank 4 monsters on the surface. Always a Phantom Knight or Raidraptor lends a ton of support in all forms. Knight gets you to an Xyz of 3 or 5 from Raidraptor, PK or Xyz Dragon. You’ll have two materials attached to the new Xyz monster and will be using it during your turn because it’s gone at the end of your opponents turn, hence why it’s an extender. PK’s are Level 3, but can still get to this, Raidraptor have a better shot of getting there, as do decks centered around getting to Xyz Dragon monsters. Of the monsters you can go after with Raider’s Knight the best one arguably is a card we review on Friday: Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon as it has card effect destruction protection, can gain a lot of ATK, and can negate all face-up monster effects on the field. As is it is a 3000ATK monster you got off of Raider’s Knight. Break Sword works best with PK’s because its first effect is a -1 unless your deck can balance itself when you trade cards for costs like PK’s can do. The other monster I’d consider using in a general strategy not dedicated to any of the archetypes would be Blaze Falcon because of the field-clearing ability and burn it can do to your opponent. Aside from that, each archetype Raider’s Knight covers can benefit in its own way, but I think Raidraptors have to jump through less hoops to get to Raider’s Knight or their own Xyz. PK’s can make Break Sword without Raider’s Knight and Xyz Dragons need to Xyz climb to get the full benefit of their monsters while Raidraptor monsters can do that but gain advantage along the way.
Splashable? Sure, but is it worth the slot you’d give it and the monster(s) you’d try to target with it? Probably not for decks outside the archetypes it specifies, but Raider’s Knight could be a cheeky card for DARK decks to use.

Two Xyz-centric archetypes getting support in the same line was going to give us a new Xyz Monster in said line of support, and we got one of the two here with Raider’s Knight.
Raider’s Knight is a Rank 4 DARK Warrior with 2000 ATK and 0 DEF. Fine stats for Rank 4, DARK and Warrior are pretty good as well. It requires 2 Level 4 DARK monsters to summon, which Raidraptors do with ease and PKs can do off of Break Sword’s effect. It’s always treated as a Raidraptor and The Phantom Knights card, so we don’t have to throw away a pretty cool name to try and force those two archetype names in. You can detach 1 material from this card to Special Summon from the Extra Deck 1 Raidraptor, The Phantom Knights, or Xyz Dragon Xyz from the Extra Deck that’s 1 Rank higher or lower than this card by using this face-up card as material, but it’s destroyed during the opponent’s next End Phase, alongside that standard stuff on an effect like this where it’s treated as an Xyz Summon and you transfer the Xyz Materials to the new monster. The part where you go down a Rank is probably more relevant in a more pure Raidraptor Deck since you don’t really want to use Level 3s that much in Raidraptors unless you do mix it with Phantom Knights, while the effect to go up a Rank might be more relevant to Phantom Knights considering how many more options Raidraptors have to Rank-Up compared to Phantom Knights, though both archetypes do have Rank-Up-Magic cards. For Rank 3s to use, you got The Phantom Knights of Break Sword and Raidraptor – Fiend Eagle, which Break Sword is great while Fiend Eagle isn’t, and the destruction on the opponent’s End Phase shouldn’t matter for Break Sword when you could just pop itself with its own effect. For Rank 5s you have Raidraptor – Blaze Falcon, Raidraptor – Stranger Falcon, Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon, and Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon. Blaze Falcon and Stranger Falcon are both decent cards, but you’d want to Rank-Up them again into Revolution Falcon or something before Raider’s Knight comes back to haunt you. Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon is a good card, but only when you used Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon as material, so you’d probably skip on summoning that. Finally, you got Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon, which is the best card to summon off this, but I think it’s obvious what we’re reviewing on Friday, so I won’t mention much here. The effect to get to a Rank 3 or Rank 5 pool for the two archetypes is pretty cool to have on this card. It is a hard once per turn, but it shouldn’t matter since you’d only need it once anyways. It offers some more options than what might of been accessible to you for two different archetypes, and at the very least you could try this in other DARK Decks with the options it has as well. It’s a really cool card.
