The week ends off with VW’s Synchro that can be a nice generic Level 9 Synchro: Virtual World Kyubi – Shenshen.
Shenshen is a Level 9 WIND Psychic Synchro with 2800 ATK and 2400 DEF. Fine stats for Level 9 Synchro, Psychic is good, and WIND is still undersupported. The summoning requirements are any Tuner and non-Tuner(s), so being generic is good. Any card sent from the field to the graveyard is banished while this is face-up, which is pretty good and can really be a hindrance to the opponent when they’re comboing off. It’s a strong effect that’s limited twice technically with Dimensional Fissure and Macro Cosmos both being at 1 in the TCG. Each effect on Shenshen is a hard once per turn, which is going to be expected on modern cards. The first effect is when your monster declares an attack, you can return a banished monster to the owner’s graveyard, which is good to get your graveyard setup back or the opponent’s monsters they want banished instead be in the graveyard. The second effect is during your Main Phase, except during the turn it was sent to the graveyard, lets you banish 2 other monsters with different original Types and Attributes from each other to revive this from the graveyard. It’s nice to get this back on field if it’s destroyed, though it’s not useful in Decks using a lot of the same Type and Attribute. It’s best probably in Virtual World with all their Synchros and Xyzs alongside their WIND Psychics and EARTH Wyrms. This effect can be used to turbo out a copy of VFD, but since you can’t use this the turn you send it to the grave, you likely rely on Cloudcastle to revive it and then it revives itself next turn when VFD detaches it on the opponent’s turn. Overall, it’s actually a good generic Level 9 Synchro to have in the toolbox alongside Vermillion Dragon Mech and Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier. A pretty good card for many Decks.

Virtual World Kyubi Shenshen closes our week, being a Level 9, Wind/Psychic Monster with 2800/2400 attack and defense. Synchro Summon requires a Tuner and 1+ non-Tuner Monsters. Psychic fits, Wind can do some things, despite being the least supported attribute, and 2800 is find but a bit low for Level 9. Declaring an attack, and not just with this card, let’s you return a Monster that’s removed from play back to its owner’s Deck Incredibly helpful in this Theme, and supportive, (and in others even) or possibly disruptive depending on your opponent’s Theme, but a nice ability nonetheless here. Removing two different Monsters from your Graveyard from play, with different types and attributes, lets you Special Summon this from your Graveyard This must be done during your Main Phase, but not the turn this goes to your Grave. This is easy enough and a fair cost to bring a big Monster back to the Field while still supporting its Theme. Each effect is once per turn. Which keeps too many resources from being recycled and dropping too many of these back to the Field at once. Nice end to the week here, but I’d still like a little more attack.
