Eye-catching numbers, and a hilarious hexproof variant that we really could have used last year, make Eradicator Valkyrie a desirable card right from the start. Her boast ability is quite remarkable, too: it looks like it has a high cost compared to some recent cards, but she’ll likely enter the axe-wild after some other creatures, and a lot of black creatures are eager to get to the shadow-halls in any event. Decks that fall behind against her might never catch up, and decks that struggle with their Superfriends matchup just might have a new champion to lead the charge.

Setting aside references to Slayer songs, which feels appropriate given how Kaldheim leans slightly into being a metalhead’s paradise, Eradicator Valkyrie is certainly able to bring the death. Amusingly, it would actually have done fine against Oko, Thief of Crowns, given that it’s immune to being targeted by planeswalker abilities. A 4/3 body is fine, but being able to force opponents to chew up their board on attack is also pretty solid, given that you can activate boast before blockers are declared. Add to the picture a decently supported tribe, and Eradicator Valkyrie can live up to its name, chewing through boards so long as you have tributes to sacrifice on its altar.
