[AUTO](VC):At the beginning of your battle phase, COST [Counter Blast (1)], draw a card, and your opponent chooses one of the following effects for every five cards in your soul. You perform the chosen effects in any order. (Each effect can only be chosen once) • All of your front row units get [Critical]+1 until end of turn. • Your opponent’s vanguard’s [Power] increases or decreases to 1 until end of turn. • All of your opponent’s [AUTO] abilities do not activate until end of turn. • Your opponent chooses a card from his or her hand, and puts it into his or her damage zone face down.

So, rather unusually for a boss Grade 3, this unit actually doesn’t give you an Imaginary Gift. So if it isn’t going to give you perma-5k on some circle or a PG, the skill had better be good. And it…sort of is? Every 5 soul, you get to unlock something new for CB1 when you start the battle phase. 5 Soul? Once the opponent’s on 4 damage they’ll have to block everything. 10 soul? Throwing even an ordinary 17k column means the opponent must block for 20k. 15 soul is doable but tricky, but then Perfect Guards are sealed during that Battle Phase, effectively, and the opponent cannot use other AUTO. 20 Soul is just a bonus IF you get it, but it’s a bit too tricky to realistically shoot for.

So is that worth no Protect Gift? Eh, I dunno, but first impressions say no. Forming a full Gastille deck is tricky because it suffers from the Scharhrot problem – it needs soul, but generates none itself. So you have to pay Counterblast to generate soul, which leaves less CB to proc Gastille with.

Good as a finisher, crap at just about every other job. Run as Scharhrot’s backup maybe, or tech this, but a full deck is sadly kind of bad.
