Hello Pojo Fans,
Great Sand Sea – Gold Golgonda is the big important card we spoke of in the past two reviews.
1000ATK boost is more like it when it comes to your smaller monster, which is the entire archetype for the most part. You can gain advantage with your smaller monsters, but you want to be able to push for some hard damage, and Sand Sea allows you to do that. A 1-for1 for a free Xyz monster within the archetype is hardly fair, considering you’ll just discard a Springans monster and then attach it to the Xyz you summon, convenient and not wasteful. The attack stopper effect is a good defensive mechanic that isn’t overpowered. It prevents you from getting OTK’d if your opponent does something like Raigeki. The protection even if leaves the field is an added bonus, ensuring you’ll either force your opponent to use the targeted monster for something else, or have it sit there for the rest of the turn.
This is the card you’re getting to your first turn or second. While it isn’t death if you don’t draw/search it first turn, it will be if you can’t get to it quickly. The boost in ATK helps you deal damage and hold off against smaller monsters, while the summon ability combines with the whole strategy of the archetype: attaching and reattaching monsters to the archetype Xyz monsters.
This card is needed in the hand as quickly as possible.

Now for the card you want to see when playing this archetype, enough where you got 2 cards specifically meant to access it from Deck: Great Sand Sea – Gold Golgonda.
Golgonda is a Field Spell that boosts your Springans Xyzs by 1000 ATK, which trust me they’ll need it if you want them in Attack Position. The rest of the effects are a hard once per turn, as you usually see in 2021. First off, if you control no Springans Xyzs, you can discard a Springans card to summon any Springans Xyz from the Extra Deck. Good way to cheat out your Xyzs considering Springans aren’t the best at swarming the board. It’s achievable, just not too consistent to do. You at least get to your boss monsters, which any Deck wants to do with great ease. The second effect is if a face-up Xyz you control leaves the field by a card effect, except during the Damage Step, you can target a monster the opponent controls and it cannot attack for the rest of the turn, even if this card leaves the field. Now, the effect is easy to trigger at least since all the Springans Xyzs banish themselves on the opponent’s turn, you just wish for something better than preventing a monster from attacking. Springans Booty at least negates a monster’s effect when you banish your Springans. At the very least, this helps keep your monsters safe from attacks or you safe from a direct attack after you just took your big boss off the board. With all that said about the last effect, the effect to cheat your Xyzs out is pretty good, especially since the Springans can load up ammo on the Xyzs for their effects.

Great Sand Sea-Gold Golgonda, is the Fueld Magic for the Theme alluded to on Monday. All your Theme XYZ Monsters get 1000 attack. That’s a considerable boost, and one which honestly would’ve helped the entire Theme immensely, but that likely would’ve made this card too good. If you control no Theme Monsters, discarding one lets you Special Summon one of the Theme from your Extra Deck. Given an XYZ Summon usually takes two or more cards to begin with normally; dropping one to the Field just for a discard is amazing. Granted, your Monster won’t have Material, but there’s plenty of ways to fix this and add or move some around in the Theme and with cards from outside, as you desire. With the 1000 attack bonus, maybe XYZ Effects aren’t as necessary anyway. The second effect is fun too, but I’m not sure how good it is. If your XYZ Monster (face up) leaves the Field by card effect (save the Damage Step) you can choose one of your opponent’s Monsters not to attack for the rest of the Turn. It’s good if you’re the one getting to use this effect. If your opponent pops one of your cards with an Effect, they likely either couldn’t destroy it in Battle; or didn’t care. But it’s still useful.
