Hello Pojo Fans,

Tri-Brigade Bearbrumm the Rampant Rampager is another of the Tri-Brigade Link Monsters.

Arrows are alright: left and bottom right, if you need the arrows you like seeing the corners on a Link 2 as the arrows. Decent ATK, generic materials for the Tri-Brigade archetype. A -1 effect isn’t good to start with, but with Kitt and Nervall triggering off being sent to the graveyard you could stand to even out or plus with how Kitt sets up the grave or what Nervall adds to your hand. The Special Summon ability off of the -1 only works with banished Level 4 or lower Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast monsters, which are what you mainly use. You should have something banished from Nervall or Fraktall to target and that monster will have their effect(s) online. 1-for-1 upon being sent to the grave and then becomes a -1 when you put a card on the bottom of your deck. You do get to directly choose a “Tri-Brigade” spell/trap and can cycle anything to the bottom that you don’t need. Tri-Brigade Stand-Off and Tri-Brigade Airborne Assault immediately get you advantage, but Tri-Brigade Revolt can help you recover if on the defensive. You do get locked for the rest of the turn into “Tri-Brigade” monsters, but if not your turn turn that may not matter.

In comparison with the other Link 2, it isn’t as good as Ferrijit the Barren Blossom. Rampant Rampager does help out recover your banished monsters and is a searcher, even if you are -1 each effect unless your effect(s) after push through.

We end the week with a new Link-2 that’s helping Tri-Brigade dominate the current metagame: Tri-Brigade Bearbrumm the Rampant Rampmager.

Bearbrumm is a Link-2 FIRE Beast with 1700 ATK and arrows pointing Left and Bottom Right. Fine ATK on Link-2, FIRE is again a fun Attribute, and Beast is one of the three types Tri-Brigade likes to see. The arrows are interesting, but makes it good for the EMZ and MMZs. The requirements are any 2 Tri-Brigade monsters, so not as generic as previous Links for the archetype. With that said, you can still use Tri-Brigade effects to summon this at least. You can discard 2 cards to target a banished Level 4 or lower Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast and Special Summon it to your field. Kinda costly to give up 2 cards for 1 after Link Summoning this on paper, but it’s fine considering you want to load your grave with your monsters anyways so you can trigger the Tri-Brigade effects on field. Upon this card being sent to the graveyard via any means, you can search any Tri-Brigade Spell/Trap and then return a card from your hand to the bottom of the Deck, but you can only Special Summon Tri-Brigade monsters for the rest of the turn. You can get around the last restriction easily considering you’re only sending this off to make your final Link Monster for the turn, likely an Apollousa considering Tri-Brigade only lock you to what you can use as Link Material, not what you can summon to begin with. This way, you now got access to search your Tri-Brigade Oath to use on the opponent’s turn and summon a free Ominous Omen while potentially triggering a few effects like Nervall and Kitt and getting a free banish. I’d mention more Tri-Brigade Spells and Traps, but Oath seems like the only card you use in this category and its’ the go-to for this card. It’s a card that looks pretty flawed on paper, but play the Deck right and you can get around these flaws and use them to your advantage instead. It’s a card that’s become a must for any Tri-Brigade player.

Closing things on a Link note, and visiting some friends we haven’t for a while, here’s Tri-Brigade Bearbrumm the Rampart Rampager (they totally make these names unnecessarily long, and this one is redundant).  Beast-Fire combination (Fire is also bad for Beasts, tending to umm kill them) but 1700 attack (nice for a Rank 2) needing two Theme Monsters for a Link Summon.  Arrows here point to the immediate Left and then the bottom Right Diagonal.  Discarding 2 cards here lets you Target and Special Summon one of your Beast/Beast-Warrior/Winged-Beast Monsters that’s been removed from play.  A fairly easy thing to accomplish, but a DOUBLE discard for one revival is just overkill, in my opinion.  It’s easier to offset that in my mind knowing Tri-Brigade specifically likes the Graveyard overflowing, so it does help you, in its own way.  You can cycle your Hand by adding a Theme Magic/Trap to your Hand from the Deck by also placing a card back from your Hand to the Deck.  The cool part is that card goes to the BOTTOM, so if it’s something already you didn’t need clogging your Hand, at least its not and you don’t have to worry about seeing it again.  All while getting something you wanted/needed to begin with.  We have the standard ‘can’t Special Summon outside the Theme for the Turn’ clause at the end, but that bothers me less and less the more I see (so long as there aren’t further negative detriments here) and there aren’t.  This is a timing card.  It does a lot, and what it does is helpful, but you might not always be able to get the most out of this guy, and that could be an issue.

Rating:  Despite the issues, this IS a pretty good card.  4/5

Art:  4.5/5  Not quite our best art this week, but still really awesome looking
