Saikyo Cardfighter R You might remember how much I gushed about Denial Griffin last year. So let’s basically take Denial Griffin, make him Counterblast free, but in exchange, murder something less high quality and if you’ve been an extra good little boy for Mummy and Daddy, shit on another card too. I suppose after my call to make more cards that actively punish attacking, Bushiroad took it to its only logical conclusion by including option to kill shit that hasn’t even attacked yet. If the attacking column has Resist, anyway. Still, who’s going to do that? It’s basically the entire column or at least the booster. 3.5/5 |
Aruku I hate you. Just seriously. I cannot put into words how much I hate this card. This card is the very bane of my existence. What in gravy’s name came to Bushiroad’s mind when they allowed the printing of a card that can retire 2 cards during the battle phase. Why? I can’t even play properly against Narukami without playing the game of Schrodinger’s Impede. Does he have a heal or not? Do I hold back or Should I aggro? Thisthingshouldn’texist/5 |
What’s up, Rogue Squad?! I’m going to make a confession: As of this post, I haven’t had the chance to face the updated Dragonic Vanquisher deck, but whenever I see it in action, I always see this beast used as a G Guardian…and I can see why. This is essentially Narukami’s Denial Griffin on steroids. You make your opponent retire and bind (or as I like to call it, bind-tire) one of their rear guards, and if they still have 2 or more rear-guards after they lost one, welp, they lose another one. The amazing thing about this is that the cost for Impede is just to flip another G Guardian, which a pretty free effect considering that Narukami’s G Guardians all have great effects that really screw with the opponent (ie this and Bulwark Dragon), and losing one of them doesn’t really hurt them much. Impede Dragon is definitely one of the best G Guardians to come out this year and is a great addition to any Narukami deck. Rating: 3.75/5 Next Time: What brought the Soul together?
