“Cyberdark Horn” + “Cyberdark Edge” + “Cyberdark Keel”
Must be Fusion Summoned. If this card is Special Summoned: Target 1 Dragon monster in your GY; equip that target to this card. Gains ATK equal to the original ATK of the monster equipped to it by this effect. Gains 100 ATK for each monster in your GY. If this card would be destroyed by battle, destroy that equipped monster instead.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Cyberdark Dragon is the Throwback Thursday choice and the original cornerstone of the archetype.
Has to be Fusion Summoned and needs specific stuff, this was highly unplayable when first released. Three monsters that are drastically underpowered, Horn, Edge, and Keel are required for this summon. Once you Special Summon Cyberdark, you get to attach any Dragon from your grave and gain ATK of that monster in addition to the 100ATK boost for every monster in your graveyard. Back then, you’d try to get Five-Headed Dragon or Cyber End Dragon into the grave and then attach it to Cyberdark. Nowadays we have some more targets for it to attach, including one bigger one tomorrow. The key now is that we have MUCH more ways to get cards from your Extra Deck to the graveyard, as well as more ways to Fusion Summon. Despite the growth of the card pool, this card still isn’t good at all. You need three weak monster to Fusion Summon this, you need something big in your grave to make this worth while, and it has no protection for itself or the archetype or negation ability whatsoever.
More ability to play it but not worth it unless you are playing the dedicated archetype build.

Throwback Thursday might of been an easy guess this week, but we’re looking at Cyberdark Dragon.
Cyberdark Dragon is a Level 8 DARK Machine Fusion with 1000 ATK and DEF. Abyssmal stats on Level 8, but DARK and Machine are good. Fusion Materials are Cyberdark Horn, Cyberdark Edge, and Cyberdark Keel specifically, which is also abyssmal since those three still aren’t good. Anyways, must be Fusion Summoned cause they knew you rather use Metamorphosis for Cyber Twin Dragon back in the day. Upon being Special Summoned, you can target a Dragon in your graveyard and equip it to this card, which for years created a forced synergy between Dragons and Machines if you wanted to run Cyberdarks until we got new cards that didn’t make it feel as forced. This card gains ATK equal to the equipped monster’s ATK, alongside 100 ATK for each monster in your graveyard, so you’re basically just getting stats that need setup for using 3 specific, terrible cards. Final effect lets you destroy the equipped monster instead if it would be destroyed in battle, which is weird protection when this is likely going to have some good stats. It’s still a pretty bad card overall, but Cyberdark Impact! existing at least could help this be a comeback option if you already got the other 3 Cyberdarks in grave with your other Cyberdark cards. Overall, it’s bad, have a copy in the Cyberdark Deck just in case.

Cyberdark Dragon, appropriately, earns TT honors this week, and we’ve done this ONCE and only once, nearly 15 years ago (I did it, I’m so old lol). Overall, it didn’t score well. This card has more going for it, at least in new support here, and a plethora of new Fusion cards alone just in the last…15 years. Three specific Monsters for Fusion, even if they make sense, sucks. HAVING to be Fusion Summoned, especially on a lackluster card, also hurts. The attaching and protection is cool, but this card was slow then, and is slower now, while the game is faster than ever. Too many variables here with the attack increase, and the protection is only for Battle, so Effects ruin it. There’s just not enough going for this to make it today. There’s certainly worse cards in the game, but this just isn’t even good in the Deck.

Throwback Thursday brings us the original Cyberdark Dragon, released way back in 2006, and its age unfortunately shows. We’ve got a level 8 DARK machine fusion monster, with a very middling 1000 attack and defense, though it’s understandable given its effect. The fusion materials are all 3 of Cyberdark Edge, Horn, and Keel, which sounds like a hassle but it actually isn’t too difficult with the new Cyberdark support and their in-house fusion spell, Cyberdark Impact!. The real question is if you actually want to summon this guy in the first place.
Cyberdark Dragon has to be fusion summoned, so no cheating it out with Cyber Stein or anything like that (not that you would want to). After you summon it, you can equip a dragon from your graveyard and it gains its original attack. If you’re willing to jump through a few hoops, you can dump something like Five-Headed Link Dragon then equip it for a monstrous 6000 attack on this guy. Unfortunately, unless you use something like Extra Foolish Burial, it’s more likely that you’ll be equipping the much weaker Cyberdark Cannon or Cyberdark Claw for a much less impressive 1600 attack bonus. On top of that, it’ll also gain 100 attack for each monster in your graveyard, which is fine but usually won’t amount to a significant amount. Lastly, it can save itself from being destroyed by battle by destroying the equip instead. Why not from being destroyed in general? Why can it only equip once? Why would you want to keep a 1000 attack Cyberdark Dragon on the board? The answer is 2006 logic. You could still use this card to hard fuse tomorrow’s card…but that’s usually more trouble than it’s worth.

Art: 4/5 Very imposing and threatening here, looks a lot scarier than it really is.
