More classics for the weekend, this time we got TCG cards all the way from the DM era starting with Yugi’s favorite spirit, Kuriboh.
Kuriboh is a Level 1 DARK Fiend with 300 ATK and 200 DEF. Stats aren’t good, but DARK and Fiend are. Kuriboh’s lone effect is to discard himself during the damage calculation when the opponent’s monster attacks to prevent you from taking damage from that battle. It’s a nice effect to save you from a potential game-ending blow or anything that’ll make you take too much damage. Honestly, you rather use battle traps like Mirror Force and Dimensional Prison back in the day and even now we don’t really use battle tricks anymore. Kuriboh can still potentially save you, and he’s useful in a dedicated Kuriboh Deck as he’s the namesake of the whole thing and we have all the Kuriboh Brothers now. Outside of dedicated Kuribohs, no point in using this.
Advanced Rating: 2/5
Art: 5/5 for the original art, 5/5 for the prize card that’s one of a kind, and 4/5 for the other alternate art.
