Yet another Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon form, this time channeling the Xyz Dragon side a bit more as we look at Odd-Eyes Rebellion Xyz Dragon.
Odd-Eyes Rebellion Xyz Dragon as a Pendulum Scale is a Scale 4, which isn’t the best Scale, and has a Pendulum Effect to Special Summon this card from the Pendulum Zone and then attach a DARK monster from your graveyard to itself as material. It’s decent, being a body to Special Summon itself back to the field after it ends up in the Pendulum Zone, though rulings should suggest it will still have to have been properly Xyz Summoned first. Hard once per turn on this effect, of course.
As a Monster, we got a Rank 7 DARK Dragon Xyz Pendulum with 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF. Good stats, DARK is great, and Dragon is always great. Materials are any 2 Level 7 Pendulums, so any Pendulum Deck with Level 7 monsters get access to this. If you can Pendulum Summon Level 7 monsters, this can be Pendulum Summoned, as most Pendulum Xyzs can. It cannot be used as Xyz Material the turn it was Xyz Summoned, likely to prevent more generic use of something like Rebellion Dragon – Overlord and ZEUS for extra attacks and materials respectively. You can detach a material from this card to target up to 2 monsters the opponent controls with 3000 or less ATK and destroy them. Decent removal, just always wish to see this kind of effect be a Quick Effect, but I guess removing 2 monsters for no real cost besides Xyz Materials on a monster that, while not completely generic, can be easily accessed in Pendulums might be too broken. Hard once per turn on that effect, so you can’t clear the opponent’s board. Finally, upon destruction in the Monster Zone, you can place it in the Pendulum Zone, since it has to get there somehow. It’s a fine card overall. It’s not all that amazing, but easier to use than Rebellion Dragon or Raging Dragon. They 100% didn’t want non-Dragon Pendulums to get easy access to Rebellion Dragon – Overlord getting 3 attacks and then going into ZEUS with the greatest of ease, which is fair. With the new Z-ARC stuff coming up, I can at least see a place for this.
