Konami announced today that Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME is continuing its yearlong celebration of the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game’s 25th anniversary with two new releases, Legendary Duelists: Soulburning Volcano arriving August 11 and Speed Duel: Streets of Battle City arriving August 25.
Also, this weekend, an entire year of competitive Dueling will finally reach its apex. Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2023(WCS) will be held on August 5 and 6 at Tokyo Big Sight, the Tokyo International Exhibition Center in Ariake. A decorated field of 28 qualified Duelists from the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG and Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG will come together to compete in the Main Event tournament. The last Duelist left standing will be crowned the new Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Champion!

As the year-long celebration of the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game’s 25th Anniversary continues, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) is excited to bring Duel fans two red-hot releases. First, get fired up for Legendary Duelists: Soulburning Volcano, stoking the fires of three spicy strategies from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, and Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS. Then, take the heat to the streets with Speed Duel: Streets of Battle City, as your favorite characters from the original Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series return to Speed Duel! And to kick it all off? The greatest Duelists from across the globe will gather in Tokyo for the year’s grandest spectacle, the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2023!
Fan the flames of fan-favorite FIRE Decks with Legendary Duelists: Soulburning Volcano! Volcanic Duelists finally get their wish, as Axel Brodie’s “Volcanic” monsters get long-awaited support! Jaden’s one-time rival from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX is ready to reload, armed with 7 new cards. A new version of Axel’s Volcanic Doomfire adds searing strength to the strategy: Special Summon it by banishing either 3 Pyro monsters or 1 “Blaze Accelerator” card from your field or Graveyard, then dominate the Duel with its 3100 Attack Points! Summon this blazing boss monster to burn your opponents by inflicting 500 damage for every Pyro monster banished, then burn them again whenever they Special Summon. It even lets you Set a “Volcanic” Trap Card straight from your Deck. Use that effect to seek out a new “Volcanic” Continuous Trap that negates opposing monster effects and dishes out damage; or get a “Volcanic” Normal Trap that can Special Summon “Volcanic” monsters from your Deck and blast your opponent for more damage! A new Level 3 “Volcanic” minion lets you add either Trap Card from your Deck to your hand, or you can use it to look through your Deck for a brand-new version of Blaze Accelerator.
The Battlin’ Boxers are back! Played by Alito in Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, these fisticuff fighters have some new moves, and some fancy footwork. Three new Effect Monsters help call your fighters to the canvas with superior Special Summons and strong effects that add cards to your hand . And two new Xyz Monsters will have your opponent down for the count! Unleash a Rank 4 that can add a FIRE monster or a “Battlin’ Boxing” Spell or Trap from your Deck. And get ready for some rope-a-dope action because this new king of the ring can block card effects from targeting your monsters. Better yet, combo Alito’s original Number 79: Battlin’ Boxer Nova Kaiser with a new Quick-Play Spell for the ultimate one-two punch and rank it up into a new Chaos Number Xyz Monster! Whenever your opponent would Special Summon, you can detach 2 materials to negate the attempt and make their monster take a dive. And with Number 79: Battlin’ Boxer Nova Kaiser attached; you can even capture opposing monsters as Xyz Material to keep your opponent on the ropes!
Finally, Soulburner’s Salamangreats get a fiery glow-up! A new Level 2 adds a “Salamangreat” monster from your Deck to your hand when it’s Summoned, and two new Tuners help you Synchro Summon. Both Tuners have powerful Special Summon effects, and 1 of them can even act as a non-Tuner and adjust its Level to help you make plays. They’ll come in handy when you want to play the theme’s new Level 8 Synchro Monster: a 2800 ATK Cyberse-Type with several effects that revive your monsters from the Graveyard. Meanwhile there’s also a new Link 4: Summon it with another copy of itself to add any “Salamangreat” card from your Deck to your hand. Better yet, when this Phoenix is in the Graveyard, you can revive it any time a FIRE monster you control is destroyed. Then you’ll add the destroyed monster’s Attack Points to the Link Monster’s 2800 ATK! Combined with new Spell and Trap Cards that bring back monsters and help you control the field, Salamangreats have never looked hotter.
