My other question comes from a tourney I recently entered. My active
pokemon was a Nidoking and his active was a Ditto. So, it was a Nidoking
against a Nidoking. His Nidoking had 60 hit points on it and mine had 20. On
my next turn I used a switch and changed my active pokemon to a lowly Nidoran.
I then stated that I should take a prize because his Nidoking was no longer a
Nidoking and was now a Nidoran, and because Nidoran has only 40 HP and it had
the 60 HP sustained from when it was a Nidoking, it would instantly faint and
result in me taking a prize. This took a lot of deliberation and I eventually
got to take a prize, but the referee was still not sure so I am asking for
your mighty judgement.
Thanks a lot! Rey ( russian_rey7@hotmail.com

Ditto's transform power is automatic. It MUST use it immediately
as long as it is not paralyzed, confused, or asleep. Sometimes, you
don't want him to use it, but there is no choice. In this case, the
Ditto had 7 damage counters on it, and a 60HP Pokemon was brought forward.
Since it was a 60HP Pokemon with 7 damage counters, it was sufficient to knock
it out, and the Ditto is gone. The ruling made at the tournament is
correct.
