Dark Ariados is an
interesting little card, but I don't think it quite makes it as
the star of a deck. One energy to gust up and paralyze (on
heads) a victim and then next turn poison him and hold him in
place (on a heads, again) while the poison works. I can see it
driving an opponent crazy if they can't counter it.
But, it has 60 HP and takes three
Grass to power up. Also, you have to get the Basic to survive.
The line is Fire weak, which will cause you problems in a
Modified tourney. Evolving will break the lock and stop the
Poison. Full Heal Energy and Miracle Berry are getting more
popular as status effects are becoming popular.
All in all, its got
possibilities. I just think that there are better choices out
there.
Unlimited: HP, weak Basic, and
costly attack kill this. 2/5
Modified: A bit better here. Crobat does it better. 2.5/5
Draft: The Basic is common, but this card is rare. You will only
get one copy in a draft. On the other hand, status is king. It's
worth taking a shot on if you can get the Basics. 3.5/5 |

Dark Ariados
The only reason we're reviewing this card is because Spiderman
comes out today. ~_^
60HP for a Stage 1 is not so good. Add to the fact that it has a
retreat cost of two... Entangle is a great TeCH attack.
It's like Brock's Monkey Taunt attack but with the chance of
paralyzing.
Poison Bind is okay. It's a guaranteed Poison attack and
you get a chance to lock the defending Pokemon. Even free
Retreaters would not be able to get rid of the status
as easily. The only flaw to the attack is that it requires too
much energy.
In Unlimited, bleh. With so much ER running around, it might
never deal damage. It's good against Slowking though.
In Modified, too little damage. By turn 3, most Pokemon in MF
would be able to a lot more damage.
In Draft, a "gust" attack is good. Any form of
disruption is good in Draft so this card gets the thumbs
up. Status attack is also very nice as they are harder to
get rid off in this format.
Unlimited Rating: 2.2/5
Modified Rating: 2.1/5
Draft Rating: 3.3/5

Poison Bind is SWEET. To gatr,
thats 70 damage on your turn, AND it can't retreat. Nice... I
think this would almost be good anti-Crobat. It's
anti-everything! The more I look at this, the more I smile.
This may be one of the best poison cards we'll see in awhile.
In standard, I see it going with a
3/5. It's very similar to Dark Muk.
In modified, I see it going with a
4/5. It's VERY similar to Dark Muk, and we all know how well
thats been doing lately.
In draft, It gets a 4.5/5. VERY
good, and VERY decent. Especially with the amount of fighting
you see in a lot of drafts.

Spidermon, Spidermon, does
whatever a spider...con. I'll opt against another full-length
parody review today.
In unlimited, it's not too strong,
considering it needs 3 Grass to do damage. The first attack can be
replaced with Gust of Win("the 'e' is unnecessary") Low
HP and High Retreat also hurt it. 2/5
In modified, however, it's pretty good. A
Gust for Grass Plus Possible Paralysis. And, 30 plus poison is
good, and with a heads flip, they can't Double Gust to cure it.
Notice it doesn't say that it goes away if Ariados is benched. 60
HP is low, but Rocket's Hideout helps that. Plus, it can gust in
weaklings and possibly keep them there. It's all about control.
3/5
In draft, gusts are good, and poison without
retreat to cure is good. The HP is marginal, but it's a good pick.
3.5/5

Unlimited: The one reason Dark
Ariados wouldn't really kick the rear is because of Trainer
support in Unlimited. Otherwise this thing could do some damage
spinning its web around your Pokemon. TecH Switches and Gust of
Wind all add into how long Dark Ariados will live before it's
KO'ed. The Basic is a bit weak as well which means Gust of Wind,
KO =\par
Modified: Because evolutions are a little
more viable in Modified than in Unlimited, I give Dark Ariados .2
points of boost. Pretty neat effects, especially against most
decks if you Entangle and make them waste Double Gust ^_^
Limited: Awesome! A great card, only problem
is it's Rare -_- Would you take this over a decent Uncommon,
perhaps. But if you feel like going Grass for Poison and TriX, I
say you take it. It is very viable and in Limited play it's only
weakness is it's low HP count which becomes very noticeable if you
play against a deck packing Heat.
Unlimited (Standard): 2.3/5
Modified: 2.5/5
Limited (Draft): 4/5
