| X-Act | Mewtwo Delta
A transcript from the powers-that-be that invent the
cards for the Pokemon TCG now follows:

“We’ve got a problem, guys. The kiddos who love Metal
Pokemon are crying out loud that we have printed too few
						of them.”

“So what can we do? With Darkness Pokemon, we invented
Team Rocket Returns, and voila! The Darkness-loving
kiddos are now happy! But what can we do with Metal???”

“Also, didn’t you notice how few Fire and Lightning
Pokemon we have issued, compared to Water, Grass,
Psychic and Fighting Pokemon? We keep issuing Pikachus
and a Pokemon from the Charizard line in every set to
make up for it, but it’s not enough. How about
						addressing that problem too?”

“Ooooohhh, I’ve got an idea!!! We’ll just haphazardly
change the types of a few Pokemon to Fire or Lightning,
and tag the Metal second type to most of them, so that
we address BOTH problems at the same time! Then we
invent a story that a guy was experimenting with Pokemon,
resulting in their metallic aura! We can name them Delta
Pokemon, because… umm… because it sounds cool!”

“Ooooh, yes it does! Imagine, Tyranitar Delta being a
Fire/Metal Pokemon? Or Dragonite Delta being a
						Lightning/Metal Pokemon? WOWOWOW!!! …”

And so, the set EX Delta Species was born. :\

One such, umm, anomaly is Mewtwo Delta. A Fire/Metal
Basic Pokemon (rofl) having 70HP and a single retreat
cost, it does have, at least, a semi-interesting
Poke-Power. Whenever you bench this card, you may move
Basic Energies around your Pokemon, excluding Mewtwo
itself. Then it has a horribly-overcosted attack. For a
Fire and a Metal (of course), it does damage equal to
the amount of Energy attached to Mewtwo Delta and the
Defending Pokemon. Now, if that Poke-Power actually
moved Energies onto Mewtwo Delta, the card might have
proved semi-decent, but, as it stands, it’s not too
useful at best, although Holon Research Tower could help
a bit. To confound matters, they gave Mewtwo weakness to
Psychic, which is the weakness it would have had if it
had stayed a Psychic Pokemon. Have fun understanding the
						Pokemon TCG game, newbie-kiddos.

Unlimited: Do you see the card Energy Flow used that
often in Unlimited? No. Since Mewtwo Delta’s Poke-Power
is basically a carbon-copy of it, you wouldn’t expect it
to be used, would you? 1/5

Modified: In Modified, it’s interesting at best, but
unfortunately, interest alone doesn’t win you games.
						1.5/5

Draft: Here it depends on whether you drafted Metal
						Energy and/or Holon’s Magneton/Electrode and/or Holon
Research Tower or not. If you hadn’t, you can only use
Mewtwo for the Poke-Power, which is still not bad in
Draft, since you can save an Energy or two from that
soon-to-be-dead Pokemon. If you have, then Mewtwo is
quite solid here. Pray that you do, then. 2/5
