Gengar-Gengar is a
lot of fun I think in some ways he is better or worse
than his Legend Maker Counter part. High HP and the +
weakness make him a great psychic pokemon to play with
he can also spread damage really easily and protect
himself at the same time.

Gengar Lv. 39 D&P
Ooohhh… Aaahhh… Life drain is one of my favorite attacks
as the effect is amazing (140 indefensible damage on a
Flygon EX?!?!) But the attack itself is very risky, but
if you don’t get it off the first time, you can always
try again as his good HP and rare type weakness lets him
survive almost any attack at least once. And his second
attack is very complementary to his first. First turn
you get a heads on life drain, then the next turn you
use shadow dance and knock the poke’ out even if it
retreated, and then you get to retreat Gengar. The only
problem with this card is that it has been overshadowed
by that “mad fire monkey king” Infernape.
Pros -
10 hp from KO!!!
Can’t be OHKO’ed by Infernape
40 damage to whatever you want
(Two headed coins… Lol)
Cons –
Flipping and all its flippy flippingness
1 retreat on a ghost!!! (Gengar must gain some weight
after evolving from Haunter. Lol)
Unlimited – … 1/5
Modified – He’s good!!! Not perfect but he’s great if
you like your luck. 4/5
Limited – Not very good here as most poke’ here have low
HP and don’t need to be life drained. 2/5
If you want to build a deck with this guy, grab a 4 leaf
clover, a horse shoe, a lucky rabbit’s foot, and that
pair of lucky underwear you’ve had forever…

gengar
i like this pokemon hes a stage 2 with 110 hp and to
good attacks for 1 c you can almost ko a pokemon then
for pc you can knock it out and deal 30 more damage in
any way you like its hp is ok and the fact you have to
switch it is annoying but you could add switch
so with all said and done
unlimited 2/5 wont see much play here
modified4/5 it could see play
limited 1/5 good luck getting it out |

Gengar
I always liked gengar cards, and this one is no
different. However, it is much more difficult to use
with the new fossil ruling. And because of the new
fossil ruling, I need to rate this card very low =[
Unlimited: 1/5
ER bait and slow.
Modified: 1.5/5
Would be 4/5 or 5/5 if the fossil rule didn't change. It
can still work, just not to well
Limited: 2/5
3 energy for 40? Stage 2? The first attack could be
nice, but it takes to long to get it out. |

Gengar
2/5
this card had the potential to be good, but they forgot
to give him a poke-power and his second attack lacks in
damage.

Gengar lv 39
I really like this card its reminds me of the expedition
gengar which in its time were really strong.
It could attack for 40 and switch to something like a
baby poke with focus band or a fossil or a jumpluff with
fluff great fun.
Today however the options are far worse. fossil ruling
and no babies makes this option much less appeling.
The attack is ok. its only 40 but you can place them how
you like and being "put damage" you can trow the DBRE
under without any worries.
Its first attack is really cheap and with endless
options for combos. This card just migth be a winner :).
110 hp is ok and with energy cost of only 1 C briney
comboes well with this one.
Needing to flip a coin for it to work is of course
frustrating for any competetive player and migth just
keep this from seeing any real play.
its weakness is brilliant its resistence is subpar.
psychic typing is normally ok but as gengar never
attacks for damadge it doesnt matter. great with only 1
retreat and it could be important as i think a gengar
deck would retreat or briney quite a lot.
a fine card which migth see play.
in limited leave it. its no good a stage 2 that attacks
for 40. BLAH
classic maybe not an automatic 1 like many others but
not obvielsly good either

Gengar Lv. 39 Diamond
and Pearl
Unlimited: 1.5/5 This is a lot better here than some
other cards form this set, hence the slightly higher
rating, however I wouldn't suggest playing this.
Modified: 3.5/5 For some reason, I really like this
card. It's first attack, while flippy, can return a VERY
handsome reward. Meanwhile its second attack is DRE'able
and can amass lots of damage if played correctly. Of
course, having the old fossil rule would've made this
card better, but it still can hold its own if played
strategically enough.
Limited: 4/5 Play this if you draft the line. |

Gengar
Probably my friend's most favorite pokemon, this
incarnation is not so great. It has 110 hp, which will
keep away the OHKO for a while. It has interesting
attacks. Life Drain is good, but has a 50% chance of not
working. Pokemon need to be more consistent than this if
they are to be played widely. The second attack is ok,
but 40 damage for 3 energy is never very high on my
great attack list. It does switch Gengar out, but his
retreat cost is minimal so it is not all that great.
Could work well in a hit and run style of deck with huge
hp blockers, but seeing as Psychic pokemon are not known
for high HP, this is unlikely as a scenario.
Modified-2/5 (I would like a more reliable pokemon here)
Limited-2/5 (stage 2 is not all that playable here)
