Monferno:
Unlimited: Much better FASTER hitters in Unlimited. Stick to
your hitmonchans folks. 1/5
Modified: T1 play a holon supporter or TVR, t2 evolve and
then on t3 you do 90 with Fire Monkey, at least 2 of these
are a staple in the deck. 4/5
Limited: Great attacks for limited. Low NRG cost and decent
damage. Along with free retreat and 70 HP makes it a winner.

Monferno
30 damage for only one energy and he is setting himself
up for inferapes attack and free retreat cost. because
you know your gonna use it to turn into infernape he is
an excellent card

Monferno
This monkey is actually pretty good. Chimchar doing
10+10 with PP, then Monferno knocking out Holon'
Castoform is pretty beastly. I like it, very nice stage
one.
Modified: 5/5 because you are only using it really to
get out infernape, but if another Monferno comes out,
this one is still likely to be better.

Yo Pojo today were
going to review the First Evolution Chimitar takes on
his path to becoming Goku, Oh I mean Infernape. Monferno
his name and fire will be his game so lets see if he
helps out the Evolution line shall we?
Monferno here is of course a fire type with 70 hp and a
plus 20 weakness to water. His retreat cost I may add is
a Big fat 0. His attacks are simple so lets review those
now shall we? His first move Flame dance cost only one
fire Energy and causes 30 damage, plus takes a fire
energy from the discard and attaches it to Monferno so
you now have reason to pitch energy to the discard pile.
His other attack is fury Swipes which does 20 times the
number of heads and we simply get 3 coin tosses, all
this for 2 colorless energy. In my opinion its his first
move in which we will be wanting to use Monferno for but
its always nice to have options.
Unlimited: 3.5/5 Good but not perfect
Modified: 4.5/5 This Card is needed for Infernape which
seems to be all thee rage and for good reason
Limited: 5/5 If you can use it Do it!

OK, here we go, the
"little"" fire monkey.
Perhaps, in a history of stage 1 fire pokemon that
evolve into powerful stage 2s...the best of the bunch.
70 HP, Free Retreat, Water weakness, but not x2...all
positives in this current envio!
As for the attacks...30 for 1 with a recharge.
Does this spell the END of Beldum starts being
considered good in Metanite? I think so.
If the Infernape player goes second, all they need with
a chimchar start is Monferno, rare candy, fire energy,
game.
Is that easy to pull off? No...but the threat is enough
that it will cost some Metanite players a quick game
from time to time, which at US Nationals would be a
DISASTER.
The second attack is for desperation. Would you rather
have a pure 30 for 1, or flips for 20, 40 or 60 (average
30) for 2. Most every time, take the sure damage.
Evolves into bubba, which is good.

Unlimited...3/5 I can see the fire monkey doing OK here
with double rainbow...oops, is that a Blastoise or
Suicune? BAD PLAY
Modified...4.5/5 The infernape decks are currently huge.
Limited...5/5 A perfect card in draft....high HP, free
retreat, easy to get prevolution, low energy attacks,
can be effective without Infernape in this format. You
MUST take this card, or the Infernape in the pack with
it. Period.
