My name is Luxray
I’m like Superman
I can see trough things
No one else can
Unlimited: To high energy cost to be good here..
Rating : 1/5
Modified: Too bad it’s attack says that you MUST send
the energy back. The Power is ok I guess and it has a
nice resistance.
Rating : 2/5
Limited: The Power you probably won’t even be needing
assuming your opponent will put as many basic on the
bench as possible. The attack really bites in here…
Rating : 1/5

"You must respect my authoitae"
OK, here we go, one
of the more anticipated cards in the set...but could be
a disappointment.
Luxray is a stage 2 120 HP little electric monster with
an interesting Poke-power.
When Luxray comes into play...3 good things happen:
1. You get to look at your opponent's hand
2. If the bench is not full, you get to put a basic
pokemon onto their bench.
3. The new basic pokemon becomes the defending pokemon
So, 1. you know what they have available, and 2. you can
force them to drop a pokemon they may not want to (Lugia
EX, Absol EX) at the time you evolve, and then you drop
an UNENERGIZED pokemon into their active slot!
Sounds pretty good to me...but what can go wrong...
1. There are no basic pokemon in their hand... you have
wasted a really cool power.
You can use Mew EX - HP to make sure this is not the
case before evolving.
2. Their bench is full...
You know this before you go and evolve.
3. Their only basic is a problem you do NOT want to deal
with. You are actually helping your opponent.
Once again, Mew EX to the rescue!
Then we can talk about using Dusknoir (yesterday) to
take a fully set up Pokemon and shuffle it and all cards
attached into your opponent's deck.
The combos with this guy seem quite endless.
Then we look at the attack, which is 1 4 lightning
attack (no acceleration), which moves all of the energy
off of Luxray onto a benched Pokemon (if any)
Oh, you want to move the energy, to someone like
Electrive...
80 damage is still very good, but a bit UNDERPOWERED for
4 energy in this envio (90 for 2?)
Good weakness (at least for now) with fighting. Machamp
and Rhyp decks are getting more popular, so be careful!
Bad resistance, unless Metanite is still played in your
area. POP 5 Mew started to kill the Metal Types.
Infernape Killed them.
The ratings....
Unlimited - 1/5 no use here, sorry
Modified - 3/5 Someone will come up with a cool combo,
but I can see it taking WAY TOO long to set up.
Limited - 4.5/5 The prevolutions seem pretty common, and
moving your energy off of your attacker, forcing a new
active, and other funky stuff is pretty good!
Talk to you all next week! First STL Battle Road Report!

Luxray Lv. 48 Diamond & Pearl
Hello there. Today’s COTD is one that I expect great
things from. The Poke’ power is awesome, as being
able to not only look at your opponents hand but
then if their bench isn’t full you get to take a
basic pokemon from your opponents hand and make it
active, can anyone say free KO? The attack is great
too, as even though you have to put all of the
lightning energies onto a benched pokemon, this can
be softened by either; A, don’t have a benched poke’
(bad idea, very bad idea.) Or B, have another Luxray
on the bench. This would allow you to do 80 damage
per turn. Add meteor falls to the equation and
you’ve got a good deck. I’ll tell you now, I’m
slightly partial to this card. =P
Pros-
80 damage attack
Nice HP
Metal resistance (nice anti-Metanite)
Nice poke power
Cons-
Needs 4 energies
Attack puts energies onto a benched poke’
Only one attack
Unlimited – Too slow, do not pass go, do not collect
$200. 1/5
Modified – Could work with the right help. 4/5
Limited – Not very good here, as the energy cost is
too great, and the opponent is likely to have a full
bench. 2/5
Hmmm… could today’s COTD and yesterdays work
together?

Hey there Pojo Viewers its Friday so time to
Shell out one last Review for your reading
Pleasure or Displeasure however you want to look
at it. Today Were looking at Luxray the Final
Form of Shinx so lets this Review started.
To Start our Friend Lux is an Electric Type with
120 Hp, plus 30 Weakness to Fighting, -20
resistance to Steel, and a Retreat cost of one,
those Stats seem kinda normal for an Electric
Pokemom so lets break him down some more. His
Pokepower while only really usable one will more
then likely Score you a Quick Prize, When you
Evolve Luxio into Luxray you can look at your
opponents hand and providing they have a spot on
the bench you can chose a Basic Pokemon and add
it to there bench then switch it with the
defending pokemon, this switch could harm them
especially if they were saving that Pokemon for
a later use. Is Attack Lightning Star could be
better but then could be worse, its useful in an
Electric Deck or in a Deck where you don’t plan
to have to many Benched pokemon. The Attack cost
4 Electric Energy but In Return you cause 80
damage to the defending pokemon and Swap all the
Lightning energy on Luxray and place it on
another pokemon on your bench but only if you
have a bench. So yeah as I said not that bad but
could be better.
Unlimited: 2/5 Has potential though for this
format is kinda slow
Modified: 3/5 I think the Bouncing of Energy
Effect of his attack could be more useful here
Seeing how he’ll be powering up the next
attacker for after he falls.
Limited: 2.5/5 If you can Get him out go for it,
though Aside from Electivire is there really any
good Electirc types that can use that energy?

full price for late pizza.
