Lapras
Modified - Well, it looks decent. It's a Castaway in an
attack. Unlike Stantler, Lapras can also fetch a Pokemon
Tool and basic Energy card, but the attack isn't energyless,
so that's not very cool. Is Lapras a better starter than
Pachirisu or Stantler? I don't think so. But it's good. 4/5
Limited - Most of the time Carry In will only get you an
energy, since supporters and tools are hard to come by here.
But it has decent HP for a basic so you can send Lapras
active to fetch whatever basic energy you need while you
wait for him to die. 3/5 |

Hello everyone, sorry about my absence the past few
days, I was on a little vacation. Well, I'm back now and
today we review the Loch Ness Monster. Lapras, I mean.
Name: Lapras Lv. 47
Set: Great Encounters
Rarity: Rare
Analysis: OK, I don't see this being used other than for
its damage attack, 'Wave Splash'. I mean it sounds so
lethal, right? I think I am going to put five or six in
my deck for states.
(Uhoh, I think Arbok has lost his mind. How sad...
Somebody should help him.)
Hey, I'm just kidding, haha. I seriously don't
understand why Lapras is always so underpowered. 20
damage for two energy? Come on, this thing looks like a
sea monster. Oh well, anyway, I do like its first
attack, 'Carry In', which essentially is a Castaway. For
one water energy, 'Carry In' fetches any 1 supporter, 1
basic energy card, and 1 Pokemon Tool from your deck.
This is very useful and a step up from most of the
starters out there. Unfortunately, its specific energy
requirement will really restrict it to a point where it
won't be in many decks outside of water ones. Seriously
though, I believe you should play this guy as your
starter if you run a water deck. The expected popularity
of Pachirisu hurts i
(because of weakness, Pachirisu does 30 damage to it),
but it will be able to stay a few turns because it does
have 80 HP, and Pachirisu will take a few turns to fill
the bench before it will want to attack. A big plus is
Lapras' low retreat cost (Seriously, only 1? Look at it!
2 or 3 is more reasonable). It would not be wise to use
it to attack, I would suggest using it for Carry In
until it is knocked out. Turn 1, grab a Holon Mentor.
Turn 2, grab a Celio's Network. Really, it can get you
whatever you need. Great for countering Absol (though I
expect it to be less popular with the Claydol around). I
really do like Lapras, play it if you play water!
Modified: In general, not fantastic because it requires
specific energy, which is not good for a supposed
starter. However, it is great for its color, which is
water. And with Magmortar lurking seemingly everywhere,
water is not a bad deck choice. (4.5/5)
Limited: Not a bad starter at all. Get more energy and
the supporters and tools your were lucky enough to
pull. Energy-specific is not good... (3/5)

Lapras Lv.47 GE
Hey, today’s COTD is one that misses being a great
starter by one (W) energy, yep, one (W) energy need less
and it would be everywhere. The HP is great, 80 on a
starter is quite a bit even with the new higher HP
starters. Carry in is the only reason this card will see
play, for one (W) search your deck for an energy,
supporter, and a poke-tool. That’s like a castaway on an
attack right there, if only it cost (C) instead of (W)…
The second attack is only used for last resort (Or
against Magmar I guess.) Nice retreat cost of one (Which
is good for the usually heavier Lapras,) and a weakness
of (L) that isn’t much of a bother as long as Gallade
sees play.
Pros –
Nice HP
Castaway on an attack!
Great for a water deck starter
Cons –
Only useable for water decks!
Needs to have (C) instead of (W) for the first attack
Modified – Great in water decks sucks elsewhere. 4.5/5
Limited – As long as you have some water energy in your
deck use it! 5/5
Wow, almost done with the week already,

Lapras lv 47
This
have potential as a powerfull starter especially if you
already play a water deck. I belive that I may be good
in the right places but overall I believe this is going
to be outshined of cards like stantler (0-cost) and
pachiritsu (well you know why…..)
Maybe
in gatr decks as the does not really need the energy
attachment, does often already play stantler, and can
use the ekstra energy you get the chance to get. Grabing
a amulet coin may be usefull but if you do look uot for
pachiritsu.
