Beedrill
Modified - Getting 4 Beedrill into play would be great,
since you could do 120 damage for only 1 energy. However
it's extremely hard to get 3 Beedrill into play quickly, let
alone 4. Overall I think Beedrill needs too much time to set
up to actually be a competitive Pokemon. Weakness to Magmar
also sucks. 2/5
Limited - Tough to get a stage 2 into play here. Band Attack
will certainly not do more than 30 damage, and Twineedle is
only decent for the cost. 2/5 |

(03/04/08) - Beedrill Lv. 41
Hello, today we have an intriguing card. Beedrill SWARM!
Name: Beedrill Lv. 41
Set: Great Encounters
Rarity: Rare
Analysis: At first glance, I thought that Beedrill could
make a great deck. 'Band Attack': One energy for a
potential 120 damage?! So I tried it. Do you know how
hard it is to even get three of these guys out?
Let me warn you, it will be very hard to pull it off.
More often than not, there will be at least one Weedle,
Beedrill, or Rare Candy in your prizes. You don't get
the free 50 damage you did with FRLG Beedrill, only 30.
But this one does have 110 HP and only +30 weakness to
Fire. With the popularity of Magmortar, though, that
should make you steer away anyway. 80 damage is so easy
to do with Magmortar. The second attack, 'Twineedle', is
not really a good alternative. If you do use Beedrill,
it would obviously be the main attacker. Maybe try
Pachirisu to start? A risky deck choice to say the
least.
Modified: Sometimes great. Sometimes not. Risky and not
worth it in my opinion. (3/5)
Limited: You most likely won't get more than one, but
the great HP and free retreat are good. One energy for
30 or 3 energy of any color for 100 (sometimes)? Sounds
good to me. Maybe you'll get a rare candy as well. Turn
1 Beedrill in Limited! (4/5)

Beedrill Lv.41 GE
Welcome COTD viewers. Today’s COTD is one that may
see some play in casual play. 110 HP is a good
amount, especially for a bug, and free retreat cost
is great! But the lack of (Fighting) resistance on a
flying pokemon is slightly deterring and the +30
fire weakness just kills it. ‘Band attack’ is
awesome if used right; it’s like an amped up
Kricketune attack ‘Concerto’, maxing out at a
massive 120 damage! The ‘twineedle’ attack is what
we call boost bait; use a boost to do 50 or 100
damage in a pinch! Watch out at your league for a
Beedrill assault deck soon!
Pros –
Max 120 damage!
Free retreat
Boost-able second attack
Cons –
Fire weakness
Lack of fighting resistance
Modified – If only Magmortar wasn’t the big play
right now… 4/5
Limited – 30 for (G) is ok and colorless second
attack is great! 4.5/5
Ouch, bad luck for my poor bug friend here,
“I’m a horrible gardener. I have a rock garden. Last
week three of them died.”

Beedrill lv 41
I
won’t even bother talking about the second attack it is
very uninteresting. The first attack however is what
dreams are made of. You use furret or something of the
like to get up 4 beedrill and then plow through you
opponent using things like PP for the last punch. Sadly
it rarely happens like this most often you get stuck
with a weedle or beedrill in the prizes doing a sad 90.
this makes mawile somehow usefull but it is really not
good enough to set up 4 bees.. interesting card but….
