Hey, sorry that this was supposed to be yesterday's COTD,
but I think I have made it up to you all with the
activities I've been up to today. Today we will review
Torterra.
Name: Torterra Lv. 47
Set: Stormfront
Rarity: Rare Holo
HP: (140) - Really good, even for a stage 2. Torterra
can always take a hit.
Weakness/Resistance: (Water+30/Lightning-20) - Weakness
is definitely a problem. Fortunately, the Lv. X can fix
that, or if you also use the other versions. Resistance
to anything is nice, lightning is good.
Retreat Cost: (4) - Not so good either. Um, pack in some
Switch or Warp Points.
Poke-POWER: (Sunshine Song) - This is the main reason
this Torterra will see play. You can use this to help
evolve all your other Torterra and swarm with tanks.
This is an incredible Power.
Attack #1: (CC - Crash Impact) - This isn't a terrible
attack. You can send something back that you don't like.
60 damage is great for 2 energy, even at the cost of
damage to self (but hey, Torterra can take it).
Attack #2: (GGCC - Land Shake) - This is a nice attack,
if not expensive. If you get this out early, it could be
disastrous for your opponent. I like the other
Torterra's attacks more, but this would do in a pinch.
Final Analysis: At least one should be put in Torterra
decks to help swarm these guys. I would evolve this one
into the Lv. X, especially if it is up against a water
deck.
Modified: Should definitely see play. It is also a nice
tech in grass decks. (4/5)
Limited: Not bad here, especially since it can last a
while. Sunshine Song could be good if you get grass
evolutions for your deck. (2.5/5)
