Stunfisk
(the girly one from Legendary Treasures)
Hello and welcome to a new (shorter) week of reviews
here on Pojo’s
CotD. We kick off with a
look at Stunfisk from the
Legendary Treasures set.
As most of you will know, Legendary Treasures is
basically a reprint set rounded off with some Japanese
stuff that we haven’t already got. This includes cards
from the ‘Shiny Collection’, which had a pink and pretty
theme that seemed like it was designed to appeal to
girls. You can see that on the artwork for today’s card
with all the pink hearts floating around. The only thing
is that they decided to do it with . . .
Stunfisk!
Meloetta,
Cinccino,
Eevee . . . those I can
understand, but this? Not so much.
The card itself?
Oh, it’s actually not horrible. 90 HP means it’s Level
Ball searchable (unlike the other
Stunfisk) and Fighting is still a very solid
Typing to have (especially when it comes with a handy
Lightning Resistance). Meanwhile, Attract is a low-cost
way of stalling your opponent if you can hit the coin
flip heads, while Mud-Slap is a semi-decent offensive
option, if a little expensive.
Don’t expect to see Stunfisk
techs in every deck in future tournaments or anything
like that. It’s a fun little card and a curious choice
to get the prettyful
treatment. That’s more than enough reasons for me to
like it.
Rating
Modified: 2 (don’t you just love the way he winks at
you?)
Limited: 3 (Attract can be super annoying here)
