going to be playing better players so I need a better deck. "Dark
Light" is a lightning/psychic/colorless deck and it's pretty good. Great idea! Electric has some of the most powerful pokemon with the
lowest evolutions (Electric has only 1 Stage 2 pokemon, and that
is in Neo!). Psychic help take care of the weakness to Fighting, and so
do the Dragonites. Anyway, lemme get to the deck fixin'. Alright, start by looking at those evolutions. You have 3 of them, 2 of which are Stage 2s. One of these Stage 2s has to go. Personally, I would remove Alakazam. Although he has a great power, he does require Psychic energy, has a 3 retreat, and is weak to Psy, making him easy pickings for Dittos or Promo Mewtwos. Also, you only have one Alakazam, so the odds that you get his power working aren't too good. The Dragonite evolution, on the other hand, helps a great deal with Step In and Dragonair can be useful in the case that you don't get Dragonite. Just to strengthen that line a little, add another Dragonite. Another Electabuzz would be nice, considering he is one of the most powerful basic in the game, so throw another one of those in there too. The Pikachu can be flexible, but I would prefer the Movie Promo because of that Recharge attack, so you can get Rai pumped by second turn. Now, trainers. There are a lot of singles in this group, and many of them are going to have to go. Now that you have only one Stage 2 evolution, remove the Breeder (I know, they're supposed to be great, but take a moment to think about it. With a Breeder, you need the Basic, Breeder, and Stage 2 in your hand all at once, and if you want to Oak, this can be a major pain. Also, Breeder can be Lassed out of your hand. And besides, Dragonair is a really good Stage 1 pokemon anyway) and add a Pokemon Trader. Add another Computer Search, Item Finder, Gust of Wind, and Bill. Now that you need only one type of energy, you can take out those Energy Retrievals. Remove that lonely Scoop Up so you can add 4 Energy Removals. With you remaining slots, add energy. I noticed you had only 1 DCE with all those colorless pokemon, so I took the liberty of adding 3 more. Remove all the Psychic Energy and replace it with 5 Electric. Here's what it should finally look like:
