Okie-doke. You want me to help your deck? I help your deck...
1) Um. Talk about a lot of evolutions. Talk about a fire weakness. A couple of
Magmars could rip this deck wide open before it even came close to getting up to
speed. How do we fix this? We start by yanking everything except for Venusaur
out of there. Gone. Blam. The goal of the deck, as you said, is to get out
Venusaur... and the peanut gallery isn't helping you with that. Now, we'll
replace all those large evolutions with a few Scythers. Fire is still a problem,
so I recommend Kangaskhan--he's some good, especially when he can drop and be
Energy Trans'd up in one turn. More and more, I'm coming to the conclusion that
Venusaur decks (like Blastoise decks) want to run as few evolutions as possible.
There are so many good basics out there that there's no real reason to bog down
your deck with fat evolutions.
2) Now, let's see what we can do with your trainers. The ER and SER are good.
Bill and Oak should be 3 apiece. Drop GOW a bit and put in Comp Search and Item
Finder, two cards that just kick ass. A simplistic and largely standard trainer
array for this deck, but a good one. Oh yes... Pokemon Breeder. Need that.
3) This deck screams for 4 DCE. Since we don't want to keep the amount of grass
TOO low, make it 18, which gives us 22 total energy.

A couple of things hit me as I was finalizing the card list. First of all, Scoop
Up would be nice to give Scy or Kanga a new lease on life. Secondly, with so few
basics, Night Garbage Retrieval would be nice and would also allow you to cycle
energy. Anyway, this deck is now much cleaner and should run much smoother. Good
Luck.
