Here we are again in Martin's Mansion. Out of all the e-mails I
got, this Wigglytuff brought back the most memories of "back in the day."
Wigglytuff was very much a force in the old days, and still is.
I feel
with today's fix, we should update the classic "Wiggly" deck to fit today's
unlimited environment.
Pokemon
This deck
should solely revolve around Wigglytuff. Get rid of all the Electabuzz and
Rocket Zapdos. These cards will get in the way of this decks focus.
The
days of second turn loaded Wigglytuff with plus power(s) is done. A more
effective Wigglytuff deck will have a Wigglytuff up front loaded with recycle
energy, making it less vulnerable to energy removal because a simple recover
from an SER would only be only a double colorless energy away.
Real good
supporting Pokemon are Tyrogue and Pichu. Tyrogue is great against Chansey,
Wigglytuff, Clefable, and a baby KO from it is not uncommon. Pichu aids you
against Typhlosion, Slowking, Unown N, or anything else with powers.
Scyther is also an old favorite that has always been known to be good in
Wigglytuff. The most commonly played fighting Pokemon in "unlimited" is Tyrogue,
which Scyther not only resists; but can 1 hit KO.
Scyther is also good
for sweeping through babies late game for the last few prizes. He will go in
Erika's Jigglypuff's place.
You NEVER want to play Promo Cleffa. The
card is horrid. The only good I see it doing is making your opponent think you
have some sort of mental problem which literally forces them to forfeit the game
in fear you will crash a 747 into his home.
In other words, play Neo
Genesis Cleffa..it saves lives =\
Trainers

Your trainers are dubious. First of all, in
order for any deck to work you need a consistent trainer engine. The one you
have listed here is close to one, but doesn't take the cake.
Computer
search and Professor Oak NEED to be here. Play 4 Search, and 3 Professor Oak.
Yes, Yes, 3 Oak sounds like too little, but 2 Professor Elm will also be added,
it is good with non-basic energy and evolution. And pardon me, WHERE ARE YOUR
ITEM FINDER? LoL, play 3 buddy =)
Sabrina's Gaze is ruled out because we
have enough drawing already, as for bill. Super energy removal works well with
this Wiggly because we are playing slow and steady.
Rockets Training Gym
doesn't even make sense. A better gym would be Chaos. Yes, Chaos gym. This decks
main fear is decks sporting Pokemon Tower. That card makes this deck almost
defenseless against an onslaught of energy removing. Decks playing Pokemon tower
play little to no item finder or Gym, thus their option for a convenient well
timed default to your Chaos is out the window. Also play a single Healing Field,
default up the waaazzzooo, and nice when getting a KO a turn.
Gold berry
is good with Wigglytuff because it has 80 HP, and on average will survive a Beat
up from Sneasel (average 3 heads =60 +10 if they have a dark and a rainbow =70).
Finally, Switch is good to get out of tight spots, use it; and LOVE it.
If your environment is REAL competitive you may want to also put in a Scoop up,
if they put pull off a game winning mean look on your Scyther with a Murkrow
(and yes this happens people) you have an alternative out of it.
Chaaaaarge 'eeeeeeeeem up!!! Energy charge. Get your recycles and DCE
back.
Energy
Look kid, if you can just stop thinking
of Gary Coleman in inappropriate poses, we could get on with this fix. Anyway,
since we no longer play any Electric Pokemon, the Lightning energy goes bye-bye.
Four recycle energy, 4 Double colorless, and 4 grass will be our main
energy scheme. You may also want to play a Metal energy, it is good with Cleffa,
and keeps you alive longer while still doing consistent damage each turn with
Wigglytuff.
You didn't name your deck. This deck is automatically
property of Gary Coleman.

That should do it. Have fun with this deck, it
should do VERY well, especially in a competitive environment.
With that
done, we must go into serious Business. You see, My deck garage does not have a
mascot. I have thought about it and decided to pick one of the following 3 to be
the OFFICIAL mascot for Martin's Mansion.
I need YOUR votes to decide.
Simply e-mail me the name of the Character YOU think should be chosen to
represent Martin's Mansion. The choices are...
Tyrogue- The Lovable
Pre-evolution of Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, and Hitmontop.
Bubbles- The
Power Puff girl ;x
CRIMINAL - Former deck mechanic for Pojo.com. He
mainly spends his time on mIRC in the #Pojo channel.
and finally..
Gary Coleman - The washed up child star of different strokes. The funny
little guy who said "Watchu talking 'bout?"
Please only vote once. The
final tally and winner to be posted next Friday.
It's CRUNCH TIME!
