You've arrived right on time. Great. I'll be with you in just one moment.
Is this sharp enough for you now??
Todd: That's too sharp. My mommy doesn't let me use pencils that pointy.
ARRRGH! Ok, I got roped into letting my neighbor's kid, Todd, once again
accompany me to the office for the day. He's got a project for his first
grade class to do. He has to write about someone's job and make a report in
front of the class. Well, both his parents are insurance salesmen and that's
pretty boring, so they asked if he could write about me.
Todd: How do you spell "stupidhead"?
G-E-N-I-U-S, Todd. G-E-N-I-U-S.
Todd: D-U-M-M-Y...got it. Thanks.
It's gonna be a long and embarassing report. Well no sense in wasting more
time. Let's head into my office to fix your deck. Todd, you sit in that
chair over there, out of hearing distance.
Todd: OKAY DR. CRASH!! I'LL BE REEEEALLL QUIET!
....I'm glad we're in agreement then...OK let's see this here deck.
>Dr. Crash,
> From the dawn of Nintendo the color pink has ruled
(Kirby, Princess
>Peach, etc.). Even in the TPCG pink is more than a puff. Therefore, I

>Think Pink is a semi-stall, semi-haymaker deck that revolves around Chansey
>and Clefable. Now most people use Chansey as the perfect stall, and he is.
>Though, I see great power in Double-edge and for it can kill those pesky

>removing those damage counters while Lickitung stalls (I pay for retreats

Well, that's a nice theme there. I did a little checking and research and as
it turns out, most of the Pokemon with a pink color are pretty good. I think
this theme has some serious potential to become an excellent deck. You're
right in realizing that it would most likely be a deck capable of hitting
hard when it can and stalling when it needs to. This is a good
characteristic to have.
My only question is why you left the Jigglypuff/Wigglytuff family out. If
you want fast hitting power in the hues of red and white, then they're your
guys. I know "pink is more than a puff", but don't pass by the puff
just the
same.
Your deck as it is is ok. The Pokemon are decent, but the Trainers could use
a little alteration.
Todd: Pink? Pink is for girls..Dr. Crash is doing a girlie deck! Dr. Crash
has cooties!! Ewwwww......
Never mind him. I fix decks of all types. Be quiet and write Todd. And I
don't have cooties. I took my vitamins today.
All right, since Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff are huge candidates for this
deck, let's fix it to be a variation on a TuffStuff deck, but with some late
game stall power. This CAN be done while staying in the "pink" theme
too.
Add 4 Jigglypuffs and 3 Wigglytuffs. They'll be your core attackers.
Put in 3 Chanseys. They're pink, have tons of HP and have a powerful attack
for use in the latter half of the game. Great stall, nice finishing stroke.
Add 2 Dittos. I know the card shows them as being kinda grey, but I checked
the color Game Boy and they're pink. They're also pink on the TV show. So
it's safe. Anyway, they're a very versatile Pokemon if you put them in to
counter what the enemy's got, particularly an Alakazam or Mewtwo. They work
with colorless Energy well and make the opponent think.
Lastly, include 3 Promo Mewtwos if you can get them.
Todd: Hah! Promo Mewtwo is purple!! --scribble scribble-- "Dr. Crash is
dumb. He tells people Mewtwo is pink."
Quiet Todd! Ok, maybe Promo Mewtwo has a purplish shade, but you did include
Articuno in your original deck design, so I don't think Mewtwo is so bad.
Light purple is close to pink. But it fits perfectly into this deck. The
Psyburn attack is good. It can hit those Fighting Pokemon that would
threaten your colorless Pokes and it's Energy Absorption is amazing in the
later game. I know Promo Mewtwo isn't simple to get, but they're out there.
And in this deck, they are SO worth including.
As for the Clefairies, Clefables, Articunos, Scythers, and Lickitungs,
they're all great cards, but just don't work like they should in this deck.
I'm keeping the pinkies in and tossing the other colors out. Even Scyther
and Lickitung.
Clefairy has too little HP and Clefable is yet another evolution, which you
don't need in a Wiggly deck.
Now your Trainers need a little rearranging.
First, the obligatory 4 Bills and 2 Professor Oaks. This is standard for any
deck almost. But it's definitely needed in this deck. You need some speed to
move in the opening few turns.
Next is a card any TuffStuff deck should now not be without: Challenge! Just
released, it lets your opponent choose to give you two cards or allow you to
fill your bench with Basic Pokemon. Either helps you. A couple of these
cards will be enough since it may be useless hand filler in the mid to late
game.
4 Super Energy Removals will add some stall power to this deck. Don't worry
about losing the Energy of your won. You can handle it, especially with the
Mewtwos and this next card:
Nightly Garbage Run: A great new card from the Rocket expansion. You can
retrieve Energy, Basic Pokemon or Evolutions from your discard pile, three
at a time. Makes recycle decks more viable and gives you a few extra turns
and options. Place 3 of them in here.
3 Scoop Ups will let you get more life from those Chanseys and allow you to
move a Wigglytuff or Mewtwo into play when you need them. You'll be able to
get that Energy back, so don't worry about the loss.
4 Gusts of Wind will let you be on the offensive or the defensive, as you
see the need. They're one of the best cards available today.
1 Computer Search is good enough to get that Challenge! if you don't have it
early on, or to find a Mewtwo if you need the weakness advantage.
An Item Finder will pull a Nightly Garbage Run or Super Energy Removal back
to your hand when it's really needed too.
Lastly, either 2 Lasses, 2 Rocket Sneak Attacks or one of each will add some
defensive strategy to this deck. As an opening move, Rocket Sneak Attack
will deny your opponent an Oak, a Gust of Wind or a Pokemon Breeder,
screwing up his next couple of moves.
A Lass later on once you're situated and can go a turn or three without a
Trainer will keep your opponent at bay and leave him only to rely upon his
Pokemon for help.
Both are excellent gambits and worth using in this deck. Both allow you
to
see his or her hand as well, another benefit.
Finally, 4 Double Colorless Energy and 15 Psychic Energy will be plenty
to
get by on. You've got the card drawing power to get more when needed. Promo
Mewtwo can get the lost Energy back and N.G.R. will make sure it finds its
way back to your deck. This is a light amount of Energy, yes, but its plenty
due to the Energy manipulation power of this deck.
If you find that the Energy still isn't getting where it should, you may
want to remove a Super Energy Removal and a Gust of Wind and add 2 Fossil
Gastlys. They can get more Energy for you and into your hand instead of on
Mewtwo. Plus they have a resistance to Fighting and no retreat cost. They're
also light purple, so they match Promo Mewtwo. Color is important here too.
Well Todd, you've been quiet for a while. How's that report coming?
Todd: I dunno. You talk a lot. My mommy said that your job was exciting, but
this sucks.
What do you have so far?
Todd: Umm....here. I'll read it for you. "Dr. Crash is a Psychotrist. He
tries to help people who are crazy, but I don't think it works that well.
His desk is made of wood and he yells a lot. Psychotristry has lots of big
words and makes you sleepy."
That's all so far.
Yeah, well you keep at it. Try not to sound so enthused though. The teacher
will think you enjoyed this assignment. Ok, Orphan, I'll give you a final
listing of the revised "Think Pink" deck, now with Wigglytuff power.
4 Jigglypuff
3 Wigglytuff
3 Chansey
2 Dittos
3 Promo Mewtwos
4 Bills
2 Professor Oaks
2 Challenge!'s
4 Super Energy Removals
3 Scoop Ups
4 Gusts of Wind
3 Nightly Garbage Runs
2 Lass/Rocket Sneak Attacks
1 Computer Search
1 Item Finder
4 Double Colorless Energy
15 Psychic Energy
And there you are. This deck can hit hard. It can sit idly by and stall.
It can shuck. It can jive. It can do the calypso or the mambo. I built this
deck myself just now to try it out it looked so interesting adn I'm pleased
to say that it's been running very well against my Exeggutor deck. It should
tear my Braindance deck apart too.
You're cured! This deck still maintains the pink theme and works a lot
better than before without changing the strategy much. You may pay my
secretary on the way out. Try not to trip on Todd's muddy sneakers which I
made him leave by the door.
Todd: OK! I finished my report now!
Well let's hear it. Just start where you left off.
Todd: "Ahem!...Dr. Crash has paper on his wall to make him look
important.
He also has a secretary who is WAY smarter than he is. She gives me sugar
cookies and tells me to go bug Dr. Crash. She's cool.
Dr. Crash also has some fish who look very bored because they have to
listen to him all day. Dr. Crash's Hypno knows some good card tricks and
took my lunch money when I wasn't looking. That must be how Dr. Crash
affords nice chairs to sit in.
After seeing what Dr. Crash does for a living, I wanna be a
fireman."
Yeah thanks for the rave review Todd. Your class will just love me. Do
you
want to go get a sandwich or pizza now?
Todd: Can I have my lunch money back?
No. I've got a footstool coming next week.
Good Luck
Dr. Crash Landon
