hi Souper,
my name is Jaysen, but for now call me gengar. I have a
fighting/psychic deck that really works for me against my brother, but I
haven't really played this deck in the pokemon league. Please don't tell me
I need an alakazam because I don't have one. My trainers and energy (no
dce)also need help.
2 gastly (both fossil)
2 haunter (1 fossil, 1 base)
1 gengar
2 abra (1 tr, 1 base)
2 dark kadabra
1 dark alakazam
2 doduo
2 dodrio (for his pokemon power)
2 hitmonchan
2 drowsee (both tr)
1 hypno (fossil)
25 psychic
10 fighting
1 bill
2 GOW
2 energy removal
2 potion
the object is to get gastly, abra or drowsee on the bench, if you get
all of them, use drowsee. You start pumping up the ones on the bench and use
some of the energy to attack to stall, or use a potion. Get dodrio and other
evouations to easily retreat the pokemon and release the pokemon at them.
Use gengar's pokemon power to add finishing touches.

Overview
Right now you have a few too many evolution lines and too many singles. You've picked some
decent lines, but they could be slimmed down to make your deck work better. Your
Pokemon/Energy/Trainers ratios are off too, you need more Trainers. This gives you speed,
which let's you use less Energy, which gives you the space for the Trainers. 35 Energy is
WAY too much.
Pok閙on
Two stage two lines are very difficult to run efficiently, and take up a lot more space.
Gengar's line is very good, so let's keep them. The Dark Alakazam could be taken out, though.
His HP is too low, and Gengar is the better choice between the two. Next, let's look at the
Hitmonchan. Two Hitmonchan are not valuable enough to justify using
12 spaces for them and their Energy, making this a mono-Psychic is easy and will make the
deck run more smoothly.
You still have two more Stage 1 lines. Dodrio is there for his power, but because your main
line has a zero or one retreat cost, you can take him out. Hypno's first attack is too
situational- usually you need to be dealing damage, not rearranging cards. And his second
attack is the same as Gengar's. I'd switch it for some other Psychic or Colorless attacker.
You definitely want some MP Mewtwo in there, but there aren't many good Psychic Stage 1's yet.
I'd just stick with strong Basics. Scyther and Ditto would be good choices. Let's make the
Pokemon look like this:
4 F Gastly
3 F Haunter
3 Gengar
3 MP Mewtwo
3 Scyther
2 Ditto
Trainers
You need more card drawing, so add three Bill, four Professor Oak, and three Computer Search.
Potion doesn't really have much impact, so take those out. Make the Energy Removals 3 ER
and 3 SER. Gengar takes care of PlusPower, so that leaves space for other Trainers. I'd add
Lass or RSA for some Trainer disruption, Scoops for healing and switching, and
a third GOW. Your Trainers should look something like this:
4 Bill
4 Prof. Oak
3 Com. Search
3 RSA/Lass
3 GOW
3 Energy Removal
3 Super Energy Removal
3 Scoop Up
Energy
The Fighting's gone, and the Psychic can be taken down to 14.
Add four Double Colorless as soon as you get the chance, till then just use four more Psychic
or Full Heal Energy. Here's the deck:
Pokemon (18)
4 F Gastly
3 F Haunter
3 Gengar
3 MP Mewtwo
3 Scyther
2 Ditto
Trainers (26)
4 Bill
4 Prof. Oak
3 Com. Search
3 RSA/Lass
3 GOW
3 Energy Removal
3 Super Energy Removal
3 Scoop Up
Energy (18)
14 Psychic
4 DCE (when you get them)
It's focused more toward the Gengar line now, and it should be faster and more reliable.
Good luck!
