I know this is only an upgraded theme deck but I am
new and would appreciate some help and advice. If you
read this mail then I am grateful for your time.

First off, yes, he did follow the rules and explain the
strategy of the deck. I just omitted it. So this is just
to insure the viewers that you still need to post deck
strategies! =P
Basically, his goal is to get out ‘gross to deal massive
damage/move stuff around quickly, and pokes like Huntail
and Starmie are backup hitters. Let’s take a more
in-depth look at his strengths and weaknesses:
“Pokemonx25
Jirachi(Hidden Legends)x1
Beldum(54/101 Hidden Legends)x3
Beldum(28/101 Hidden Legends)x1
Metang(43/101 Hidden Legends)x2
Metagross(11/101 Hidden Legends)x2
Totodilex3
Clamperlx3
Huntailx2
Staryux4
Starmiex2
Castformx1
Rain Castformx1”
Okay, I see your strategies, and they are interesting.
However, I suggest you focus to make your strategy more
potent all-around. With so many attackers and energy,
you have so little room for draw, and so you won’t be
consistent in tournaments. Most Metagross variants at
this time use either Gorebyss or Milotic. However, to
play those kind of decks, you just simply listen to what
the good players of various message boards have to say.
We’ll work off of what you are into at the moment, go
out on a limb, and play Metagross/Starmie. Before the
fix, change your Beldums to all metal call
-3 totodile
-3 Camperl
-2 Huntail
-1 Staryu
-1 Castform
-1 Rain Castform
+1 Jirachi
+2 Metang (preferably Levitate, since they combo with
other things)
+1 Starmie
+4 Dunsparce
+1 Metagross ex
Not only is your list much more solid, but you even have
2 free spots now! However, it’ll all be evened out soon,
‘cause your trainers need a lot of work:

Those who know me that draw is my biggest concern. My #1
rule as a deckbuilder and player is to always use at
least 12 draw cards in each of my decks (ie trainer
cards. Delcatty doesn’t count in this guideline ;x). You
understand draw and its worth, but draw alone does not
win you the match. You need combo cards and backup to
help your deck be what it should be. So, following my
guideline, and to put in key cards to wonderful
combo’ing, here’s the new list:
-2 energy search
-2 pokenav
-2 Forest Guardian
-2 Juggler
+3 Professor Oak’s Research
+4 TV Reporter
+1 Steven’s Advice
+2 Professor Elm’s Training Method
+1 Switch
+2 Warp Point
+2 Desert Ruins
So now you’re actually 4 cards behind! Oh noes!!1
However, here’s where your energy come to real use ;x
“Metal Energyx2
Water Energyx11
Psychic Energyx11”
Their only use is to be trimmed down, and seriously
revamped:
-11 Water
-6 Psychic
+2 Metal
+4 Double Rainbow Energy
+4 Rainbow
With all of the vast editing and tweaking done, here is
your final, completed deck!
Metagross/Starmie revamped
Pokemon (25):
4 Beldum (Metal Charge)
4 Metang (Levitate)
4 Metagross
1 Metagross ex
2 Jirachi
4 Dunsparce
3 Staryu
3 Starmie
Trainers (18):
4 TV Reporter
4 Steven’s Advice
3 Copycat
2 Professor Elm’s Training Method
2 Warp Point
2 Desert Ruins
1 Switch
Energy (17):
4 Metal
4 Double Rainbow
4 Rainbow
5 Psychic
I hope this fix helped, and remember: don’t just play
this forever! Playtest to something you like on your
own! Just use this as a guideline =)
More deck fixes next week, I promise.
