After yet another long
hiatus, caused by hours of Marching Band, school, and
debate, I give you...this lurvely Cacturne deck, from
Joseph!
"Pokemon (25):
3x Zubat (Hidden Legends)
3x golbat (hidden legends)
3x crobat(hidden legends)
3x cacnea (poison payback hidden legends)
1x cacturne (hidden legends)
2x wynaut (hidden legends)
2x dunsparce (hidden legends)
2x spinda
2x tropius
Trainers (16)
2x ancient tm rock
2x tv reporter
2x rare candy
1x mr. Britney’s compassion
2x energy recycle system
4x steven’s advice
2x lanettes’s net search
1x copycat
Energy (19)
3x multi
12x grass
4x psychic
Strategy
My strategy is to get out crobat and triple poisen then
futter trick (if want to use it) then send out cacturn
to take out the bench ounce most of their pokemon have
at least 3 damage counters on them. I also use my
wynauts and other pokemon get the cards I want. The only
problem is that this deck does horribly against psychic
pokemon."
Well, I like the deck idea; it's clever and unique.
However, to win, it needs much more focus. Let's start
from the top:
"3x Zubat (Hidden Legends)
3x golbat (hidden legends)
3x crobat(hidden legends)
3x cacnea (poison payback hidden legends)
1x cacturne (hidden legends)
2x wynaut (hidden legends)
2x dunsparce (hidden legends)
2x spinda
2x tropius"
First off, a big problem is trying to convenience the
often-useless Wynaut, as seen in your energy list. Take
those out, as the trainers will do the job much better.
Considering that Cacturne is a focus, you need more.
Spinda also takes away, and tropius is not superior to
the best option for this kind of deck. Paras from
red/green is almost like dunsparce, only it's
complimented by parasect, an evolved form of Dragons
Roselia. What a two-in-one deal!
-2 wynaut
-2 dunsparce
-2 spinda
-2 tropius
+2 Cacturne
+4 Paras
+4 Parasect
"Trainers (16):
2 ATM Rock
2 TV Reporter
2 Rare Candy
1 Mr Briney's Compassion
2 Energy Recycle System
4 Steven'd Advice
2 Lanette's Net Search
1 Copycat"
First, take out CC, so you can make this
Ruby/Sapphire-on. That done, we seriously have to do
something about your draw engine. Celio for searching,
Reporter/Steven for draw, and VS Seeker for versatility
in either pulling draw from the discard, or something
like the one briney you have. Also, reinforce your deck
to combat the format. For this, ancient tomb or desert
ruins are key! To avoid yoy getting one-hit KO'ed, let's
use the other one for now:
-1 Copycat
-2 Lanette
-2 ERS
-2 Rare Candy
-1 ATM Rock
+1 TV Reporter
+2 VS Seeker
+4 Celio's Network
+1 Switch
+2 Warp Point
+2 Ancient Tomb
Now, we just need to tweak your energy a bit to make the
list solid: take out all the psychics and multis, and
fill in all but two of those spots with Grass Energy.
Pokemon (23):
3 Zubat (HL)
3 Golbat (HL)
3 Crobat (HL)
3 Cacnea (Poison Payback)
3 Cacturne
4 Paras (RG)
4 Parasect (RG)
Trainers (20):
4 Steven's Advice
4 Celio's Network
3 TV Reporter
2 VS Seeker
2 Ancient Tomb
2 Warp Point
1 Switch
1 ATM Rock
1 Mr. Briney's Compassion
Energy (17):
17 Grass
I have tested the new list, and it works quite nicely! I
wish you the best of luck in the new format, and a
Happppppppy New Year! (Of Pokemon Organized Play, that
is =P)
