Well, last week's chat was canceled due to server problems (again), but
this week's went as scheduled. There will be no Chat next week due
to the Thanksgiving (US) holidays, so there will only be one more Chat
before the WCSTS on Dec. 1-2.
Enjoy,

SUPER TRAINER SHOWDOWN:
master_trainer_pat says, "The San Diego STS is just weeks away...is
everyone
ready?"
master_trainer_mike says, "We have 440 registered so far!"
master_trainer_mike says, "If you plan on going you have to register
NOW!!!"
master_trainer_mike says, "Else you can't play in the main
events!!!"
master_trainer_pat presents the speaker with question #89 from onederlnd:
okay, we all know that the STS is comin up in just over 2 weeks, what have
you done to advertise for it? Last we heard there weren't too many
registered. I know I haven't seen too much advertising. j/w
master_trainer_pat says, "I'm not really sure what advertising has
been done
for it. There are quite a few people registered though and if last
STS was
any indication, we had a lot of people wait until the last minute."
master_trainer_mike says, "As for advertising, it is all over our web
site,
marketing provided magnets and posters to every league location, it is
going
in local papers, etc. This event has been quite well advertised."
master_trainer_pat presents the speaker with question #103 from
wizo_sensei:
For the STS main Tourney`s, must EVERYONE have an English equivalent of
any
foreign card in their decks outside of their decks no matter what country
they are from?
master_trainer_pat says, "No. If your native language is
English you must
have an English copy of any foreign card outside your deck. If your
native
language is something else, such as German you can use German cards"
master_trainer_mike says, "So a French player uses French cards.
If he has
Japanese cards in his deck, he must have a French card equivalent outside
of
his deck, just like we must do with English."
master_trainer_mike presents the speaker with question #104 from
wizo_sensei:
Will personal timers be allowed to be used in the main tourneys?
master_trainer_mike says, "Ultimately it is up to the main judge, but
clocks
are allowed as long as you realize they are not official. The judges
timer
is the official one. And they must NOT be disruptive in any way.
Meaning no
alarms and so on."
master_trainer_mike presents the speaker with question #111 from
wizo_sensei:
I have seen the Red opaque sleeves from Ultra Pro that people use
where you
can see through them enough to determine whether it is an English or
Japanese card inside of it. What does WotC intend to do about this? Will
they be allowed in the STS main t
master_trainer_mike says, "The rule is simple. If you can see
through the
sleeves, then a Japanese card in a deck would still be considered a marked
card."
master_trainer_mike presents the speaker with question #105 from
marril2000:
can non-qt winners can take the shuttle to and from the convention center
to
the qt winner's hotel?
master_trainer_mike says, "It is a typical hotel shuttle, they decide
the
rules."
master_trainer_mike presents the speaker with question #107 from
marril2000:
What are the times for check in on friday at the wcsts2 (if there is check
in on friday)?
master_trainer_mike says, "Pat found it, it is 7-9pm on Friday."
PROMO CARDS:
master_trainer_pat presents the speaker with question #98 from yoshi1001:
Still no word on a promo card for Mewtwo Returns yet, huh?
master_trainer_pat says, "no"
POKEMON LEAGUE:
master_trainer_pat presents the speaker with question #106 from daddyum:
Are there plans for another season of Pokemon League?
master_trainer_pat says, "Yes, there are. Year 3 starts Jan
5th"
master_trainer_mike presents the speaker with question #127 from
crosstrainer:
What's the best way to make sure my local Toys R Us gets their League
materials in time for Jan 5?
master_trainer_mike says, "We are working on various internal
