Base Set 2

Wizards of the Coast is stating that they will be releasing Base Set 2 sometime in March 2000.

Base Set 2 will contain 130 cards.  All the cards in the set are reprints of cards from the original Base Set and Jungle.  All cards will retain their original powers, but some cards will have their text revised making them less confusing in game situations.

What cards will not be in Base Set 2?  Gone Are:

Base Set

• Revive

• Pokemon Flute

• Devolution Spray

• Clefairy Doll

• Porygon

• Ponyta

• Koffing

Jungle

• Vileplume

• Vaporeon

• Rapidash

• Primeape

• Oddish

• Mankey

• Jolteon

• Gloom

• Flareon

• Eevee

Some Jungle cards will not be holofoil in Base Set 2 - Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime, Pinsir, Snorlax, Venomoth, and Victreebell will only be available in non-holo versions.  So you may want to get the holos of these while their still fairly cheap.  (PoJo note ..get them foil Mr. Mimes while you can)

There will also be 4 new theme decks.  

• Grass Chopper - Grass/Fighting Deck

• Lightning Bug - Electric/Grass Deck

• Psych Out - Psychic/Water Deck

• Hot Water - Fire/Water Deck

Also available is "Base Set 2 Starter Set", for those of you that still don't know how to play.  This will contain an Instruction Video and a CD-ROM.  Now they're thinking!
